Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of the assigned projects. The role requires strong leadership and coordination skills to ensure that all project activities align with the organization’s objectives, are completed on time, within budget, and meet the required quality standards. He/She works with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and other third parties to ensure that both sides are getting what they need from the relationship. He/She may also be tasked with developing new partnerships or identifying ways to expand existing ones. This might include researching potential partners, creating proposals outlining how a partnership could benefit both parties, negotiating terms of the agreement, etc
• Developing strategic plans with partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration
• Managing relationships with partners to ensure they are satisfied with the partnership’s performance
• Reviewing contracts with partners to ensure compliance with legal requirements
• Managing partner relations and communications including negotiating contracts, managing conflicts, and initiating termination procedures when necessary
• Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, goals, deliverables, timeline, and resource allocation.
• Identify risks and develop risk management strategies.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
• Lead the project team to ensure effective and efficient implementation of all project activities.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
• Allocate tasks to team members and monitor progress to ensure all activities are completed within agreed timelines.
• Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Regularly assess project progress and implement adjustments as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
• Prepare detailed reports and updates for management and stakeholders on project status, challenges, and results.
• Ensure project costs are controlled and remain within budget.
• Work closely with the finance team to oversee financial reporting and cost analysis.
• Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including donors, partners, and internal teams.
• Organize regular meetings and briefings with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment with project goals.
• Provide leadership and direction to the project team.
• Conduct performance evaluations, offer mentorship, and foster professional development within the team.
• Oversee the implementation of WASH activities, ensuring compliance with project goals and objectives.
• Conduct regular field visits to ensure quality implementation and identify any challenges in the field.
• Prepare reports and documentation for donors, stakeholders, and internal use.
• Manage acknowledgement, reporting and stewardship for contracts and partnership agreements.
• Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
• MBA/MA/BA degree in Project Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Marketing Mangament or related fields.
• A minimum of 7/9 years of relevant work experience in Project Management, preferably in Development Organization or Financial Institution.
TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
• Interest in technology and industry fluency preferred;
• Creative, flexible, and solution-oriented;
• Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and to drive to clarity, with a mindset of building repeatable processes for the future;
