Awach SACCOS Is a saving and credit cooperative established on March 22/2007 G.C. Having in mind a long-range objective of encouraging saving mobilization culture and loan provision in the community with a strong commitment and belongingness, coupled with shared visions of the founders; Awach became a truly serving financial institution within 17 (seventeen) successful and fruitful years after the establishment. Our mission is to enhance the socio-economic conditions of our members and the wider community by mobilizing savings, facilitating access to credit, and promoting asset building through innovative technology and a dedicated team. By 2030, we aspire to be a world-class saving and credit cooperative society, fostering a culture of saving and offering fair-interest loans. 

The Project Manager is responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies to support AWACH SACCOS’s financial goals while managing key projects from inception to completion. This role requires a dynamic individual who can build and maintain relationships with donors, manage fundraising campaigns, and ensure the successful delivery of projects aligned with AWACH SACCOS's mission. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for nonprofit work, and a track record of successful fundraising and project management. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, creating detailed project plans that outline timelines, budgets, and resource requirements. 

  • Lead the execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. 

  • Manage project teams, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. 

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. 

  • Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, reporting on progress and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders. 

  •  Work with external partners, including NGOs, government agencies, and private sector organizations, to support project objectives and expand the organization's impact. 

  • Manage the overall project activities from the inception to commissioning 

  • Administrate all the necessary bid processes and selection of the consultant and contractors for the HQ building. 

  • Facilitating and delivering all the necessary legal issues for the construction of the HQ 

  • Supervise and inspect the tasks that are to be, or are already, completed

  • Work with the Consultant and contractor on behalf of the Awach SACCOS 

  • Receive reports from the consultant and contractor regularly and ensure the reports that are submitted are corrected and real. 

  • Organize and support the financial team with the necessary financial documents in compliance with the Awach Accounting Procedure 

  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques 

  • Manage the project procurement process as per the Awach SACCOS procurement management guideline 

  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility 

  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs 

  • Implement and manage changes when necessary to meet project deliverables 

  • Evaluate, monitor, and assess the result of the project 

  • Submit a regular and periodical progress report to the Project executive committee 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, including donor acquisition, retention, and engagement plans. 

  • Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations, ensuring effective stewardship and communication. 

  • Research, write, and submit grant proposals to secure funding from governmental and nongovernmental sources. 

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date donor database, track donations, and analyse fundraising data to inform future strategies. 

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials, including brochures, newsletter, social media content, and press release

Job Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field from a well- known University with a CGPA>2.5 

  •  A Master’s degree is preferred 

  •  Experience: ≥ 6 years of demonstrated work experience in project management and fundraising at least 2 years of them at the manager level 

  •  Strong Knowledge of lending principles, projects 

  •  Proven track record in managing projects and fundraising with driving results 

  •  Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices. 

  •  Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies {e.g., Agile, Waterfall}. 

  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  •  Strong leadership and team management abilities. 

  •  Financial management skills, including budgeting and financial reporting. 

  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
