Job Description
Support the development and maintenance of a dynamic knowledge management system that captures and organizes information from various Coalition activities and best practices to demonstrate the impact of SHG coalition efforts.
Support the design and facilitation of an inclusive learning eco-system that inspires learning from working with communities, and instills a systematic process to promote the practice of shared learning among SHG coalition members
Closely work with the EKHCDC LDDR team and SHG Coalition members to design, contextualize, and roll out relevant tools and formats for learning and knowledge management
Meal strategy & progress measurement
Co-design impact measurement processes/MEAL plan and strategies that align with grant objectives, SHG Coalition goals, and LCA principles, in collaboration with LCA SHG Coalition members and EKHCDC DMEAL team.
Track progress, identify challenges and successes, and recommend improvements based on evaluation findings.
Capacity strengthening
Conduct tailored capacity-strengthening and sharing activities (training, workshops, mentorship, coaching) for Coalition members, to strengthen skills to operationnalize and implement MEAL and knowledge management framework Work closely with the DMEAL team and strengthen their capacity to take leadership in overseeing and guiding the MEAL and knowledge management related activities.
Research
Support EKHCDC in conducting research to build the evidence base and generate actionable insights that inform broader advocacy and programming for system change.
Support the evaluation of SHG Coalition programmers and organizational activities and analyze areas for potential improvement
Support external evaluators, researchers, and/or consultants and ensure regular, quality engagement for better outcome
Data quality assurance
Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous verification, validation, and regularchecks.
Review community-level assessment reports, base line studies, and evaluation reports.
Ensure reports from SHG Coalitions/consultants are comprehensive and high quality.
Support coalition to undertake quality control of Joint Action Plan (JAP) implementing strategies and approaches.
Support the design and implementation of base line and end line assessment to measure the impact of Coalition
Reporting, generating knowledge products, and knowledge sharing
Support the Coalition with compiling evidence and findings from MEAL activities into comprehensive reports and knowledge products for dissemination including:
Communicating results to internal stakeholders, donors, and Coalition members, highlighting achievements, lessons learned, and areas for improvement;
Supporting the Coalition with the preparation of the M&E unit's periodic progress report by providing M&E-related information;
Collecting and/or assisting in the collection of qualitative evidence including progress stories, most significant changes, case studies, good practices, lessons, and updates;
Working closely with the YT LCA structures to document and disseminate lessons learned from JAP evaluations;
Contributing to developing and managing knowledge products to inform advocacy and communications, in collaboration with the EKHCDC Communications team and DMEAL team
Resource development
Collaborate with Coalition members to develop tailored MEAL learning tools and resources that facilitate knowledge sharing, capacity strengthening, and learning within the Coalition. These could include training materials, workshops, knowledge-sharing platforms, etc.
Resource mobilization
Contribute to the development of fundraising bids/proposals related to the Ethiopia SHG Coalition.
Adaptive management
Promote a culture of adaptive management within the Coalition using MEAL findings to inform iterative adjustments to strategies, interventions, and activities.
Encourage learning from both successes and challenges to improve overall effectiveness.
Representation and collaboration
Represent the organization effectively in meetings, share knowledge and experience, and support the development of the organization and its public profile.
Perform related duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations within the scope of practice.
Work closely with the M&E Working Group to:
Prepare monitoring field visit plans and conduct monitoring visits as and when required.
conduct regular monitoring at intervention sites to ensure the quality delivery of inputs and contribute to generating expected results; and
participate in internal and external monitoring missions.

Education
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Economics, Developmental Economics, Agribusiness economics & a social science discipline (such as Development Studies, Anthropology, or any other related field)
Experience:
At least 5-7 years of experience in conducting research and, evaluations in a multi-sectoral environment, preferably within community-driven or localization initiatives such as self-help group promotion
Technical skills require:
Substantial experience working in rural or remote areas, with a strong preference for experience in Ethiopia or similar contexts.
Experience in capacity-strengthening and sharing initiatives, including designing and delivering training and workshops.
Strong capability in designing MEAL plans, developing indicators, and using MEAL tools.
Proficiency in drafting, preparing, and analyzing reports to communicate complex information effectively.
Advanced skills in designing and conducting research, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Proficiency in using statistical software (e.g., KOBO, SPSS, STATA) and qualitative analysis tools (e.g., NVivo).
Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication, able to communicate research and evaluation findings in an understandable and usable manner to diverse audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including local communities, coalition members, and donors.
Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and collaborative tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom).
A solid grasp of the principles of effective planning, ensuring a well-structured approach to tasks and projects.
