Job Description

Best Western Plus Pearl Addis is a global brand hotel chain perfectly located with only 1 Km distance from Bole International Airport and just a short walk distance from Bole Medhanialem Cathedral. 

Accountant can maintain the financial records of the hotel to effectively assist the Accounting Office staff and other sections of the Finance Department. 
To prepare and be responsible for the timely submission of all reports to the concerned bodies.

Job Requirements

  • To assist the Senior Accountant in the efficient operation of the department and in the close supervision of all internal controls.

  • Maintains the books of the hotel, prepares standard and miscellaneous journal vouchers for the monthly closings, and coordinates the various sections of the Accounting Department to ensure the timely receipt of input for the closing.

  • Maintains the fixed assets register of the Hotel's properties and ensures that fixed assets are periodically counted and reconciled with the register.

  • Prepares final trial balance, profit and loss statement

  • Reviews and coordinates the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and ensures that all supporting schedules and worksheets are prepared and updated on a monthly basis.

  • Reconciles or ensures that bank account are reconciled monthly and that all reconciling items are investigated and cleared in the subsequent period.

  • Prepares (or assists the Senior Accountant in preparing) all reports required by the Finance Manager Government.

  • Assist the Finance department personnel as detailed in the organization chart and in the absence of the Senior Accountant.

  • Participates jointly with the Senior Accountant in preparing annual budgets and forecasts as required.

  • Reviews and coordinates the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and ensures that all supporting schedules and worksheets are prepared and updated on a monthly basis.

  • To monitor daily the official exchange rates to ensure that the hotels published rates are appropriate.

  • Reconciles or ensures that bank account are reconciled monthly and that all reconciling items are investigated and cleared in the subsequent period.

  • Coordinates and reports inventory and cash counts

  • Should have a high command of MS Applications like Excel, PowerPoint etc.

  • Knowledge of back office or accounting systems like Sun

  • Knowledge of Hotel Software like OPERA, MC, MICROS Software.

  • post daily cash sales to sun

  • post credit card to sun 

  • export daily cash sales revenue from opera to sun

  • prepare payroll for each month

  • prepare daily sales report to different user

  • check daily room revenue

  • check room discrepancy among the two reports (Housekeeping Vs Opera)

  • And if any other work that are worked by account receivable accountant

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Fluent in English, both oral and written

  • Excellent financial/business decision-making.

  • Should possess strong financial knowledge.

  • Analytical skills and very well
