Job Description
Is a professional task, which provides contract administration services on the terms of the construction or other organization duties. It must exercise independent and impartial judgement when carrying out their duties. And have the knowledge, skill and expertise to ensure that the parties' obligations are fulfilled in accordance with the terms of the contract. And be aware of and comply with all relevant safety policy and procedures.
Oversee the entire project, analyze prevent or mitigate errors, risks and disputes. Overall, the objective is to ensure that the contract is carried out in the best possible manner. A contract administrator assists with discerning whether a project is progressing according to the terms of the contract in proportion to, amongst others, procurements, supervision and site records, milestone achievements, valuations, payments assessments, submissions of claims for additional payments, variations, extensions of time and rectifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Preparing and Revising Contracts: Draft and revise construction contracts to ensure they meet the needs of the project and comply with legal requirements.
Negotiating Terms: Negotiate contract terms with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to secure favorable conditions for the company.
Monitoring Compliance: Ensure all parties adhere to the terms and conditions of the contracts, and monitor compliance throughout the project.
Analyzing Risks: Identify and analyze potential risks associated with contracts and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Explaining Terms: Explain contract terms and conditions to managers and other stakeholders to ensure they understand their obligations.
Reviewing and Updating Contracts: Regularly review and update existing contracts to reflect any changes in terms or conditions.
Coordinating with Project Managers: Work closely with project managers to ensure that contracts are executed properly and that any issues are promptly addressed.
Handling Disputes: Address and resolve any contractual disputes that arise during the project.
Maintaining Documentation: Keep detailed records of all contracts, amendments, and related correspondence.
Ensuring Legal Compliance: Ensure that all contracts comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Budget Management: Assist in managing project budgets and ensure that financial aspects of contracts are properly handled.
Supporting Cost Control: Provide essential support in cost control and play a crucial role in protecting the company’s interests throughout the project.
