Job Description
Professional Alliance for Development (PADet) is an Ethiopian civil society organization which runs various humanitarian & developmental programs at community level in Ethiopia focusing on Sexual Reproductive health &HIV/AIDS, Child safeguarding &development, Women empowerment & development and Food Security &Livelihood promotion programs empowering vulnerable women, children, and youth in North Wollo Zone, South Wollo Zone, Awi Zone, South Gojam ,South Gondar zone ,Wagmera zone - Amhara Region, Afar Region, North Shoa Zone, Jima/Kersa - Oromia Region and Addis Ababa. PADet has been working since 1998 in partnership with various International Donors, Regional Governments, National CSOs and the communities.
Currently, PADet would like to hire potential candidates for its project (“Peace Cohesion through Advocacy and Dialogue” /P-CAD) which will soon start implementation in the Amhara, Tigray and Afar regions in partnership with Action Aid and CSA Africa and financed by the EU. The project will promote networking and strengthening of ties and relations among CSOs, support platforms of dialogue and engagement in policy advocacy to advance the role and contribution of CSOs, women and young people at all levels.
The Woreda Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring all interventions and activities related to community engagement. In addition, s/he is expected to work closely with P-CAD consortium partners, woreda government sectors, and other implementing partners in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and sharing of lessons and learning of project activities at interventions at woreda
Establish good working relationships with local communities, their leaders and other stakeholders in the project intervention.
Work with communities in planning, prioritizing and implementing the activities.
Work with communities to gain access to information, resources and opportunities that are likely to empower them to manage peace and security effectively.
Conduct awareness training and promote social accountability activities which assist communities to explore options for conflict management in their area.
Liaise closely with the government stakeholder’s staff in identifying the project implementation strategies and opportunities and partnerships for their success.
Responsible for planning, compile and data collection, monitoring and reporting of the project result and outcome.
Coordinate documentation of project learning in areas of P-CAD and other related subjects and sharing and project improvement within PADET.
Provide capacity building support for CSO, CBOs, women and youth groups and disabilities in areas of project intervention and related issues when requested by the responsible program coordinator.
Serve as the project focal/liaison and information point for the partner local governments within the region/cluster.
Support the process of selection of beneficiaries and partner with local governments within the woreda to undergo strategic planning process, according to the criteria and selection process approved by the concerned bodies.
Directly assist partner local governments and their local socio-economic actors within the woreda to understand the project objectives and effectively participate in the overall project implementation.
Design capacity building action plans accordingly for each partner local government within the woreda, based on the capacity assessment results.
Assist and guide civil society and local governments within the woreda to discuss, design and set-up mechanisms for citizen involvement into local policy design, conflict resolution system.

Qualification
BA/MA Degrees in Political science, Law, Peace and Security, Governance and Development, Sociology and Social Work, Leadership and Management OR other related field of study.
Computer proficiency and trained in MS Office and Competence in statistical package like SPSS
At least Four years’ experience in related position (preferable in NGO)
Familiarity with dynamics and key issues relating to P-CAD project in Afar and Amhara in particular.
Proven report writing and communication skills.
Good communications and interpersonal skills and good leadership quality Demonstrated experiences on capacity development of Non-State Actors, community structures
Experience of working with local governments, civil society organizations, and familiarity with the local context, culture, and language is desirable
Fluency in the languages of Afarigna, Amharic and other locally speaking.
Able to work with minimum supervision.
