Job Description
REACH Ethiopia is a local organization implementing diverse TB, TB/HIV, DR-TB and Other projects for more than 13 years. It is implementing projects in urban, agrarian pastoralist and national level, covering all agro-ecological zones of the country. Working with REACH Ethiopia provides different implementation opportunities, working with MOH, CSOs, RHBs and partners across the country. The Organization is dedicated to end TB in the country, joining hands with stakeholders, building effective partnership, introducing new technologies and initiatives to contribute meeting the national goal, and objectives guided by TBLLD NSP.
Under the leadership of the Technical Director the TB expert will lead, execute and oversee the successful implementation and delivery of all program activities of the mentioned projects to achieve the intended goals of the projects in their respective implementation area (National level and Tigray). He/she actively supports coordination for planning, implementation and delivery of defined and agreed upon and service delivery/practice of standards and provides oversight to all the activities under the projects that will be implemented in these settings.
S/he will develop the project’s management plan and regularly review activity performance of the activities planned by the project. Additionally, the expert will discuss on the status of the project implementations and raised issues and develop improvement plans with the Technical Director as necessary.
Accordingly, REACH Ethiopia is seeking a short-term consultant (STC) to support implementation various projects. The consultant will work with the Technical Director and senior advisors, where necessary.
Development and implementation of the project implementation plan
Support in building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of people and sectors in implementation areas, in addition to own team
Manage communications, coordinating with ACSM DIEA Advisor for various media relations, social media etc.; for undergoing activities
Keep all members of the team up to date with relevant project information; in consultation with the Technical Director and ensure technology is used correctly for all operations (video conferencing, presentations etc.) when appropriate.
Comply with policies and procedures governing the project and ensure that various TB projects assigned to him/her are operating at maximum efficiency.
Prepare and submit reports, per the schedule, to Technical Director; regarding project operations, and analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the project and support development of new methods aimed at greater success on the project's implementations.
Actively support identification of key issues and priorities in line with the TB project objectives for effective implementation and communicate with the Technical Director about the status of the project.
Ensure implementation experiences from the implemented projects are well archived and shared to other projects and implementing partners.
Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Technical Director
Knowledge management
Identify areas for crosscutting collaboration with RHBs/CSOs and relevant partners.
Enhance and anchor the in-depth knowledge of TB technical areas in the technical team (both own and partners team)
Actively share knowledge with the other team, in close consultation with the Technical Director.
Maintain personal in-depth knowledge on TB control areas and able to understand as well as manage frequently changing development related to TB.
Have a well-versed knowledge on MDR-TB care and prevention activities to directly support and implement activities.
Bachelor’s degree in public health, Nursing, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Having a master’s degree in area of public health is an asset
Minimum of 2 years of experience working on TB programs, preferably in an urban setting.
Proven experience in activity coordination, mentorship, capacity building and training delivery.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Fluency in Amharic and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in DHIS2 and other relevant data management systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to working in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Similar USAID projects is a plus
