Under the strategic management of the MSIE MCH Specialty Centre Manager, the Obstetrician/Gynecologist ensures efficient delivery of client/patient care; performs ANC, delivery, PNC, permanent family planning, cesarean section, and other procedures per accepted standard medical practices and professional code of conduct; works efficiently to increase client satisfaction and builds the reputation of MSIE clinical services; ensure quality, ensure sustainability and financial feasibility of MSIE clinical services.

DUTIES/ TASKS

• Examines patients/clients in line with standard medical procedures using various types of diagnostic mechanisms.

• Administers and prescribes drugs based on analysis of examination, test reports, and findings and counseling.

• Performing ANC, deliveries, PNC, voluntary surgical contraception (VSC), cesarean sections, and other related procedures.

• Performs ANC, delivery, PNC voluntary surgical contraception (VSC), cesarean section, and other procedures.

• Puts the interest of clients/patients above all other considerations and ensures the confidentiality of all cases.

• Ensures the maintenance of a high-level standard consistent with available resources.

• Prepares and submits reports, as deemed necessary.

• Participants in training programs, as and when deemed necessary.

• Initiates or collaborates in research undertakings.

• Provides specialist advice to the Centre on any possible action to ensure quality care improvement from which the center may benefit.

• Conducts clinical record review and participates in investigation and reporting of clinical incidents.

• Conducts continuous supportive supervision and competency assessment of senior-level full-time or part-time staff in the center such as Gynecologists, Pediatrician, Anesthetists, Integrated Emergency surgical officers, and health officers.

• Ensures the clinical quality of the center is up to the National and MSI standards.

• Ensures implementation of action plans recommended by FDA, after clinical incident investigation and QTA (Quality Technical Assistance visits).

• Develops and implements client/patient management plans and assists in the provision of continuity of care.

• Instructs and counsels clients/patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.

• Interact with stakeholders (like pharmaceutical reps, insurance companies, etc.) to ensure smooth delivery of patient care.

•  Participates in specified health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs as needed.

• Attends team meetings and shares best practices with colleagues.

Job Requirements

Education: MD and specialization in Obstetrics & Gynecology

Experience: Two years as a Gynecologist

• Good appreciation of government, MSI, and MSIE regulations

• Knowledge of the concepts and model of counseling
