Under general supervision by the MSIE Centre Manager/OPD/IPD head, the incumbent performs IESO duties ensuring efficient delivery and client/patient care in accordance with accepted standard medical practice and professional codes of conduct.

2. DUTIES/TASKS

General

• Examines patients/clients in line with standard medical procedures using various types of diagnostic mechanisms.

• Administers and prescribes drugs based on analysis of examination, test reports and 
findings and counselling services.

• Performs ANC, delivery, PNC, voluntary surgical contraception (VSC), Post-partum 
family planning, Cervical Cancer Screening and preventive treatment, comprehensive 
abortion care including second trimester termination of pregnancy and caesarean section.

• Directs the completion of the format to be filled by a Clinician. 

• Ensures the maintenance of a high level standard consistent with available resources.

• Prepares and submits reports, as deemed necessary.

• Participates in training programs, as and when deemed necessary.

• Initiates or collaborates in research undertakings.

• Performs related tasks as required;

Job Requirements

a. Education 

      Master’s in emergency surgery and obstetrics 

b. Experience

      Four years of relevant experience

Skills, Attitudes and Attributes

• Good Customer handling practice

• Awareness of quality care and good pharmaceutical practice

• Awareness of concepts and strategies of supplies

• Awareness of MOH and FMHACA guideline

• Strong oral and written communication

• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages
