Job Description

Under the direction of the Commercial Services and Marketing Lead, the Centre Lead is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and coordinating the activities of the SRH center.  S/he ensures the effective and efficient delivery of services of the center and is also responsible for supervising, leading, and motivating the center staff. Coordinate and supervise the work and activities of service providers and non-service providers working in the center.  

 Specific Roles and Responsibilities 

 Business Leadership and Team Management  

  1. Take the lead in the overall coordination of center activities to ensure efficient delivery of quality services and achievement of MSI Ethiopia’s mission and center business targets.

  2. Responsible for team spirit and productivity management by on-the-job coaching, motivation and continuously setting and reviewing performance targets for the center staff. 

  3. Responsible for financial sustainability and continuous growth of the center business by ensuring center service promotion, service diversification, and efficient management of available resources. 

  4. Ensure effective implementation of initiatives like client referral schemes, waiver schemes, client-centric care, center branding guidelines, and any other future business development strategies planned. 

  5. Assess the private sector activity and propose possible solutions for business challenges.

Resource Management and Administration 

  1. Responsible for managing all human resource-related issues according to MSIE HR policy

  2. Responsible for planning and efficient management of supply chain and logistic-related issues of the center. 

  3. Follows-up stock management by their proper receipt, storage, safe keep, issuance, and regular replenishment by pre-establishing re-order level;

  4. Responsible for monthly expense planning and ensuring all financial transactions of the center are in line with the MSIE financial policies. 

  5. Approves supplies' requests and issuance and authorizes financial payments for the purchase of goods and services as per the organization's financial policy and delegation of authority;

  6. Performs other administrative duties essential for the day-to-day running of the clinic;

Marketing and Referral networking

  1. With the technical support of marketing officers ensure planning execution and tracking of local/center-level demand generation activities. 

  2. Ensure maintaining branding consistency in the center compound in the placement of any marketing assets and other communications materials.

  3. Responsible for developing business partnerships and client referral networking through the execution of the referral networking scheme of the center channel.

  4. Supervise, motivate, and support the performance of center promoters along with the technical support of marketing officers.

  5. Provide marketing leadership to promote the BemONC center and attract clients, working in collaboration with the Marketing Officer and Commercial Services and Maternity Lead.

  6. Manage partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including healthcare providers, community leaders, and partner organizations, to enhance the center's services and reach.

Client Centric Care and quality assurance  

  1. Support service providers delivering quality clinical services under the technical supervision of a health officer. 

  2. Builds customer relation management skills and/or capacity of the Centre team members.

  3. Ensure the best quality of clinical care by regular monitoring, competency assessment, and training of service providers with support from the Health officer and clinical quality and training department. 

  4. Ensure on-time reports for the clinical incidents that happened in the center as per the guidelines of MSIE. 

  5. Enforces MSIE Infection Prevention Standards for the clinic.

  6. Ensure Maintenance of a safe, clean, orderly, and pleasant Clinic environment.

  7. Ensures the maintenance of efficient delivery of client-centric care and the confidentiality of all cases, by accepted standard medical practices and professional code of conduct. 

Marketing and Referral networking

Reporting, decision making, and partnership management 

  1. Responsible for preparing and sharing weekly/monthly/quarterly reports of KPI, financial, and stock reports of the center at the support office as per the agreed schedule.   

  2. Ensures client records are up-to-date, orderly, properly filed, and readily retrievable for reference and inspection as per MSIE standards. 

  3. Identifies problems that interfere with practice and develop an action plan for resolution.

  4. Practices effective problem identification and resolution skills as a method of sound decision-making.

  5. Build up strong relations with local government and non-governmental agencies to promote MSIE's interest and partnership at the local level. 

  6. Ensure effective collaboration and synergies are established with MSIE’s other business activities in the town/region. 

  7. Undertakes any other relevant duties that assigned by the line manager/department director.

  1. Education Qualification: Degree in business management, Nursing, Public Health, Marketing and related fields 

  2. Desirable Experience of 3 years in, 

    1. Healthcare service delivery management

    2. Experience within the sexual and reproductive healthcare sector or related field

    3. Track record in achieving financial and non-financial targets in business management.

  3. Skills, Attitudes and Attributes

  • Sound business development and planning skills.

  • Understanding the issues surrounding the provision of SRH services. 

  • Understanding major policies/issues of government health policies, and regional policies.

  • Ability to proceed on own initiative using independent judgment within the MSIE Authority delegation. 

  • Collaborative approach to team working.

  • Strong personal commitment to the goals of MSI and to put it into practice.

  • Good interpersonal communication skills - both oral and written.

  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role, preferably in a healthcare or SRH setting.

  • Strong knowledge of sexual and reproductive health services and related regulations.

  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage a team and work collaboratively with stakeholders.

  • Proficient in budget management and financial reporting.

  • Familiarity with data management systems and electronic health records.

  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.

  • Commitment to promoting sexual and reproductive health rights and ensuring access to quality services.
