Job Purpose

The Logistics Manager reports directly to the Operations Coordinator and has responsibility to support and work with the country office logistics technical managers/officers as well as the Coordination Offices logistics teams and program managers/team leaders managing donation In Kind supplies coming from Donors/Partners.

To ensure the logistics functions comply with Concern’s policies and donor regulations, the role is also required to: - 

  • Manage the head office fleet unit

  • Procurement support to the coordination offices including review of supplies to ensure compliance. 

  • Responsible for the management of our donations in kind reporting and commodity management, requiring frequent visits to our operational areas.

  • Gap filling support to coordination offices as required

Main duties & Responsibilities:

Key areas of responsibilities:

  • Ensure strict compliance at regional level to both Concern and donor policies in relation to logistics, commodity management and DIK reporting.

  • Assume overall responsibility for donation in kind reporting for the Country programme.

  • Maximize country transport and DIK management systems quality of work and smooth running of the day to day activities.

  • Ensure that Concern’s fleet management is optimal and that resources are utilised in the most efficient way. 

  • Capacitate and support for field logistics teams and provide on-job training as required. 

  • Carry out induction trainings for staff as required.

  • Carry out logistical assessments for establishment of new project offices and undergo smooth phase out activities upon project closing. 

  • Ensure Concern worldwide transport and commodity distribution guideline and SOPs are always in place. 

  • Assist the emergency coordinator in relation to any humanitarian response activities.

  • Assume the responsibilities of the logistical functions of the operations coordinator when delegated during periods of absence.

  • Participate and contribute as necessary towards Concern’s Emergency response as and when necessary

  • Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that information about CRM, safeguarding and expected staff behavior is disseminated among programme participants and communities.

Person specification:

  • Master’s degree in supply chain management or other related fields 

  • Minimum of 3 years INGO Experience in a similar capacity. 

  • 6 years of relevant experience with the first degree.

  • 4 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree. 

  • At least 3 years management experience.

  • Fluent spoken and written English.
