Action Against Hunger-USA is a global humanitarian organization that takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. We save the lives of malnourished children and we enable entire communities to be free from hunger. With more than 8,000 staff in over 50 countries, our programs reached 17 million people in 2019.

About the Country Program in Ethiopia

Action Against Hunger has been operational in Ethiopia since 1984 responding to both chronic and acute needs through a multi-sectoral strategy where nutrition, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support activities are integrated to have a meaningful impact on people’s resilience. Action Against Hunger currently operates in 5 different regions (Oromia, Somali, Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, and Gambella) with a portfolio of 20m USD/year of emergency, resilience building, research, and innovation programs. We have a country team of around 600 staff in 17 regional and satellite offices. Our main donors in Ethiopia in 2020/2021 are BHA, ECHO, Europaid, UNHCR, UNICEF, GFFO, BPRM, SIDA, EHF, WFP, CIAA, and others.

 Summary of Position, Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensure DHIS II data entry for all projects and support tasks related to data entry on DHIS II and other platforms the organization use

• In coordination with the data manager support the configuration of new Activity Progress      Report (APR) into DHIS II and ensure all projects have APRs configured on the system

• Records any issues reported from base MEALs related to DHIS II and track mitigation actions in coordination with the MEAL team.

• Assist the base MEAL team with any DHIS II reporting issues; ensure configuration of all projects at respective sites in DHIS II,  support the bases to maintain up-to-date data entry

• Working closely with the data manager, MEAL HoD and DHoD, and other members of the MEAL team, assist in troubleshooting DHIS II related challenges

• Collaborate with MEAL and technical team members to incorporate feedback and comments on APRs, reports, CFRM reports, and other records.

• Provide MEAL function support at both capital and base locations as required.

Required

• Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.

• Must be above 18 years of age.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple tasks as well as self-direct with minimum supervision.

• Familiarity with DHIS II and data management platforms preferred.

• Strong analytical and communication skills.

• Detail-oriented and committed to data integrity.

• BA degree required - studies in any of the following areas: social science, accounting, business administration, social studies, social science development or humanitarian studies, international relations, or a related field;

• Fluency (written and Spoken) in English is required.

• Genuine interest in and commitment to the opportunity, the mission, and principles of Action Against Hunger.
