ORDA ETHIOPIA is a non-governmental organization dedicated to improve livelihood and environmental security in Amhara region as well as in Ethiopia since 1984 G.C. It envisaged to bring the above changes in the community by working on environment and climate change, water and irrigation, agriculture, nutrition and disaster risk management, gender, disability inclusion and youth Employment and food commodity management and emergency response interventions. Project overview
The WASH and Livelihoods Improvements for Eritrean Refugees and Host Communities in Afar and Amhara, Ethiopia project is being designed to respond to the basic needs of those refugees and vulnerable communities in and around the refugee camps of Alemwach, Dabat woreda of the Amhara region and Asayita of Afar region with a fund support of Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH) and ORDA Ethiopia takes implementation role of the livelihood component of the project. The livelihood component of the project's interventions mainly focused in creating access to income generating measures for the Eritrean refugees and host communities which includes irrigated agriculture, sheep/goat fattening and rearing and these activities will be backed with necessary trainings, relevant equipment and input supplies.
Purpose of the Job
The project coordinator is responsible for managing resources, field office team, providing leadership and technical guidance with regards to programmatic, operational, administrative, and financial implementation of the project. He/she will facilitate and guide the identification of project targets, proper delivery of critical project outputs including creating access to income generating opportunities in both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors, timely supply of basic inputs and equipment and the provision of tailored capacity building trainings to the refugees and host communities, and coordinate with stakeholders and partners (government, donor, TVETs, private actors) to build an enabling environment. The project coordinator has an overall responsibility to ensure the proper execution of the project and achieve intended progress towards the attainment of the project' objectives and outputs and assumes all responsibility for all programmatic progress, financial and personnel management related issues as well as partnership issues, including providing technical and methodological support to own staffs, partners and continuous monitoring, learning and reporting.
Duties and responsibilities
Oversee the overall planning, coordination, implementations, monitoring and evaluation and reporting of the project activities and ensuring the attainment of project objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with targeted communities, TVETs, local government, private agencies and other stakeholders relevant to the effective executions of the project.
Collaborate with the Program team in annual work plan preparations, incorporating inputs from local partners and represent ORDA Ethiopia in the project operational areas.
Provide strategic guidance and back up in the identification of target beneficiaries, delivery of project outputs and ensure accountability across project executions.
Identify capacity gaps of target beneficiaries, local government and TVETs that are relevant factors in connection with the successful implementations of the project, and design capacity-building initiatives to address them effectively but with the scope limit of the project plan including budget.
Represent ORDA Ethiopia in the project operational area and sensitize values, principles, mission and vision of the organization.
Prepares annual budget for the assigned regions based on regional proposal and ensures compliance with donor requirements;
Monitor monthly budget burn rates and make timely adjustments when needed in consultation with program director and ensure regularly if expenditures are up to ORDA Ethiopia's and the donor's requirement (based on an agreement entered)
Managing human resource (at individual and team level) stationed in the
Ensure timely financial reporting is done and shared with concerned body;
Monitor the performance and compliance of target beneficiaries and local partners' and meet standard operating procedures of ORDA Ethiopia and WHH to ensure program quality and effectiveness.
Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to enhance program implementation in consultation of the program director
Conduct regular monitoring visits and support local stakeholders in addressing challenges and achieving project milestones.
Provide a work environment where women and men must be evaluated & promoted based on their skills and performance, Respect beneficiaries' (women, men, children, and adults at risk etc.) regardless of gender, sex orientation, disability, Race, color, ancestry, age, or marital status.
The incumbent remain alert and responsive to any child and adults at risk safeguarding & safe programing policy of the organization so that acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, safeguarding standards and procedures of the organization

Qualifications and work experience requirements:
Education/Training
Master's or Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University/college in Animal Science mimal production technology, Plant science, Agricultural Economics, Dry Land Crop production and Mortioathi
Experience:
Relevant experience of 6/8 years for MA/MSC and and BA/BSC out of which at least 2 years in supervisory/team leader/managerial experience. Experience in refugee response programs, especially in
leading and coordinating and in an NGO setting is preferable.
Technical Skills/, Knowledge & Competencies
Language proficiency in written and spoken English, Amhari and Afargn.
Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel & PowerPoint etc.).
Knowledge in refuge response, conflict resolution, agricultural production (chicken, sheep/goat, irrigation based vegetable production), working with TVET linkage and training facilitations in employment creation perspective, business and marketing.
Effective interpersonal skills, networking and partnership and a high sense of responsibility.
Ability to work harmoniously with people of different cultural backgrounds.
Ability to analyze technical issues, to write clear and concise reports and make effective oral presentations.
Demonstrated technical ability and skills to work effectively with project staff and partners at all
levels. Proven ability to work creatively, innovatively, and effectively with limited direct supervision.
