The Opportunity
The position exists to design and coordinate pilot intervention on economic strengthening, VSLA, livelihoods and microfinance activities to serve the populations surrounding the WWA intervention Industrial Parks viz., Adama, Bahirdar, Hawassa, and Kombolcha. The incumbent provides technical support to all stakeholders, specially surrounding communities and newly arrived workers to the Industrial Park. to ensure the implementation of the USAID WWA economic strengthening activities. She/he will also work very closely with the CoP, the Technical coordinators in each Operational Areas and local WWA technical staff and will function as an integral part of the team managing economic strengthening activities. The incumbent will actively participate in program planning, implementation support and follow up of the progress of economic strengthening activities under the project.
Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
Education: - Bachelor’s Degree or higher in international development or a related field preferred;
Experiance: - At minimum of 5 years of work experience in economic strengthening/empowerment programming;
Expertise in and sensitivity to the socio-cultural barriers facing intended beneficiaries for this program.
Previous experience working on economic strengthening activities.
