Under the supervision of the Field Program Manager, the Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining and managing accounting activities.

Job Description/Responsibilities: 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Finance

  •  Processing financial transactions

  •  Work closely with the Senior Finance Manager and Field Program Manager to ensure smooth operation and compliance with the organization’s finance standards and deadlines.

  •  Maintaining accounting records, filing systems, and computer files

  •  Scanning finance documents and loading them into the shared drive as required

  •  Prepare Bank reconciliations when required

  •  Handling, processing, and reconciliation of petty cash, cash withdrawals, and deposits

  •  Assist in preparing and reviewing all the supporting documents for the finance transactions to ensure full compliance with internal audit and company requirements,

  •  Plan, organize, and manage your workload to ensure your contribution to the organization’s monthly financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner

  •  Support the year-end procedure and preparation for external audit.

  •  Processing payment and reports

  •  Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate for this role

  •  consolidate financial information.

  •  Ability to produce and communicate clear financial reports as required

  •  Excellent teamwork skills as well as the ability to apply initiative.

  •  Ability to develop and enhance the existing financial systems and processes

  •   Good written and verbal communication skills

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance & Accounting, Economics or relevant field

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience directly related to financial management or accountancy, preferably with an international organization (NGO)

  •  Active knowledge of English language writing and speaking

  •  Proficiency in financial Accounting software like Cost-Point, Sun System & MS Excel and MS Word as well as good grasp on Internet and email communication.

  •  Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
