Job Description

Major Responsibility

  • Identify and delineate degraded communal lands for restoration intervention in collaboration with local administration and community leaders under project officer technical supervision.

  • Highly degraded areas putted under restoration and delivered enhanced ecosystem services and community well being.

  • Identify and register vulnerable community groups/beneficiaries for communal land restoration and targeted livelihood interventions in participatory approach with local administrations and community leaders.

  • Vulnerable small holder farmers identified and benefited from delivered livelihood options.

  • Follow up and support fruit and multi-purpose tree seedlings production in government, group and individual nurseries, provide technical assistance in transportation to plantation sites and finally perform plantations through community mobilization.

  • Quality fruit and tree seedlings produced in government, group and individual nurseries for communal land and Agroforestry plots plantation.

  • Assist and support project officer and government experts in qualitative and quantitative baseline and end line data collection and encoding for analysis. Assist project officer in community and stakeholders capacity building trainings.

  • Base line and end line data’s collected and compiled for tracking progress and impact evaluation.

  • Provide technical support to the community in course of degraded landscape restoration activities implementation and livelihood options inaction. Conduct periodic progress assessments and Identify gabs and report to the project officer and community taskforces and seeking for timely solutions.

  • Community got technical assistance on degraded landscape restoration and livelihood activities implementation for effective outcomes.

  • Provide continues follow up on communal sites under restoration progresses and agroforestry plots at private farmstead, mobilize community for, SWC, fruit/tree Plantation, silviculcultural management and FMNR practices on the spot.

  • Restoration efforts followed up and sustainable management ensured.

Job Requirements

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification 

  • Completed TVET level III in NRM, Forestry, Community development, cooperatives and related

Required Professional Experience 

  • 2 years’ experience on field level implementation of Landscape Restoration, Agro-forestry, FMNR, livelihood, organising community, field data collection and etc. in rural Context.

  • Experience as a Community workers/facilitator is advantageous.

  •   Field Based
