The Senior Recruiter at First Consult is responsible for the sourcing and recruitment of top-tier industry talents. Key responsibilities of this role include developing and executing recruitment plans, networking, and leveraging industry contacts, and closely collaborating with department managers to comprehend hiring needs. The role extends to promoting First Consult as an attractive employer. The Senior recruiter will be responsible for ensuring a smooth hiring process, conducting preliminary screenings and interviews, as well as working with the hiring manager’s throughout the process.
Given the work First Consult engages in that requires immediate hiring needs across various projects and particularly First Consult need to hire someone with the regional context, prioritize the gender equity requirements and diverse project requirements, the Senior Recruiter will also be tasked with developing and maintaining a database with potential candidate pool. This database should be built using existing data and through industry networks focusing on access to finance, SME development, youth employment and be constantly updated and kept current for immediate use.
The role necessitates excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of recruitment strategies and behavioral interviews. A profound understanding of and adherence to the recruitment laws, regulations, as well as best practices is expected. This position Reports directly to the HR Lead/Deputy Operation Director.
The Recruiter should possess excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Recruitment stages (sourcing, screening, interviewing)
Develop and Execute Recruiting Plans: The Recruiter will be responsible for developing and executing recruiting plans in coordination with hiring managers. The recruiter should stay abreast of market trends and recruitment technologies to incorporate industry best practices into talent acquisition.
Sourcing Candidates: The Recruiter will utilize various sourcing strategies, including job boards, social networking sites, and job fairs to find potential candidates.
Conduct Interviews: The Recruiter will conduct interviews and preliminary screening, ensuring all candidates meet the company’s requirements and expectations.
Compliance: The recruiter ensures that the company follows all local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing recruitment and hiring practices.
Database: The Recruiter is responsible for building a talent pool database and updating the information continuously for immediate usability. The recruiter is also expected to utilize data-driven approaches to monitor recruitment metrics while striving for continual improvement in the recruitment process.
Functional areas (candidate relationship management, employer branding, data analysis)
Building Employer Brand: The Recruiter will also be responsible for promoting First Consult's brand as an excellent place to work and employer.
Networking: Utilizing industry contacts, association memberships, and employees, the Recruiter will create a network to aid in recruitment efforts.
Collaboration (interaction with hiring managers, other teams)
Coordination with Hiring Managers: The Recruiter will coordinate and work closely with hiring managers during the decision-making process, offering insights into candidate suitability and fit.
The recruiter will perform any other duties assigned by the HR Lead/Deputy Operation Director.
Required
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree or HR certification would be a plus.
A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the same industry or in an HR recruitment company.
Candidates with previous experience in a consulting firm or HR agency will be given preference.
Proven experience in full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and employment branding, and understanding of all selection methods and techniques.
Superb communication, decision-making, and negotiation skills. Capabilities in creating and presenting the employer's branding strategy. A solid understanding of sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites. Proficiency in recruitment tools, applications, and candidate management systems is required.
Proficient in MS Office.
Familiarity with job boards, social networks, and CV databases. A keen understanding of interviewing techniques and a familiarity with applicant tracking systems. A deep understanding of labor law and employment equity regulations.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
A hard-working, self-starting attitude. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Successful in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly. Capacity to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, ability to work independently but also to collaborate effectively with various teams within the organization.
Strong understanding of office dynamics and professional relationships.
