Job Description

Triage Physicians Performe assessments on incoming patients to evaluate their symptoms so they can triage them appropriately. Working with patients and families who are in the waiting room. Giving emergency treatment whenever necessary.

The triage GP performs, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Evaluate new patients that arrived at the ER triage area based on the emergency triage protocol

  • I.Necessary & systematic history

  • II. Necessary & systematic physical examination

  • Fill out the triage form/paper and triage them to their respective area based on their acuity level

  • If necessary, document necessary findings on the triage form/paper

  • Write orders for medications/management or procedures (invasive) that need to be administered or done in the triage area with the complete time and date.

  • Do various procedures that need to be done immediately in the triage area before triaging to the ER area

  • Accompany and ensure a proper handover to the ER team in a critical patient that needs physician accompanying.

  • Provide patient education where appropriate.
