Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Secondary School Maths Teacher to join our successful Maths Department in January 2024.

  • Carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school’s policies and ethos under the direction of the Head.

  • Take responsibility for the progress and learning of children determined on   an annual basis by the Head of maths and in accordance with the duties listed in this document.

  • The post holder will be expected to undertake duties in line with the professional standards for qualified teachers.

  • Teach pupils, and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.

  • Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both within

  • the school and the wider community.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • MSc/BSc degree and a teaching certificate (PGCE or equivalent) is required.

 Experience

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar school setting is an advantage. IGCSE and IB experience is preferred

  • Proven ability as an excellent Classroom Teacher

 Knowledge and skills

  • Professional knowledge of what constitutes high quality and standards in teaching and learning

  • Professional understanding of inclusion and strategies for engaging all learners

  • Professional understanding of safeguarding within a school setting

  • Ability to write reports, keep accurate records and communicate effectively

  • Understanding of curriculum and assessment of pupil progress
