Key Areas

Inspects and prepares maintenance and repair reports of machines, trucks and other equipment that are provided to the work -shop, and sends the reports to concerned earth moving or light duty work shop. Inspects completed (repaired and maintained) machines according to specifications, closes job orders and informs that the machines /equipment is ready to operation, and makes follow up on serviced and unserviced machines.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Opens job orders; identifies machines malfunctions based on operators or assess the machines using different mechanisms.

• Instructs operators on the ways of handling machine; checks each machine, tools and other instruments that are available in the workshop. 

• Checks that machines are returned from operations through inspection.

• By opening job orders, he/she expedites the deployment of machines that can be repaired/ maintained simply.

• Helps, coordinates, and directs the mechanics and control work quality on the process of maintenance.

• Makes initial inspections in difficult cases and diagnoses malfunctions; ensures that deficiencies are corrected in accordance with specifications or instructions.

• By studying the required spare parts and other materials, he/she informs the workshop head so as to be purchased on time.

• Helps in preparing machine accident reports when required, and prepare the costs of accident.

• Prepares daily reports of inspection, and the machines entered to the workshop.

• Identifies the training needs for operators and participates in training programs.

·         Works as member of workshop committee.

·         Checks that requisitions are fulfilled for new machineries.

·         Checks the safety of operating tools.

·         Performs other related works as required.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

·   Advanced Diploma in Automotive Technology/Auto-Mechanic with six (6) years of demonstrated experience.

Or Diploma/Level-III in Automotive Technology with 8 years’ experience

With 5th Grade Driving Licence/Special License
