Job Summary

This position is responsible for the co-ordination and management of all Purchasing activities across the company. The main objective of the position is to ensure effective and efficient purchase and delivery of goods and services. This will be done through the establishment and rationalization of key supplier selection, agreements, identification of new opportunities, and activity seeking and applying ways to improve efficiencies by ensuring legislative compliance. In addition, he/she will be responsible for tendering processes and Administration of contracts in accordance with policies, procedures and specified contract requirements of the company.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Establish and rationalize Key Supplier Agreements, identify new opportunities, seek ways to improve efficiencies and ensure purchasing compliance.

  • Identify, control and develop purchasing processes and practices, to ensure the company obtains the best value for expenditure on goods and Services.

  • Receive purchase requests and compile all.

  • Review of purchasing arrangements with suppliers including price, delivery, performance and discounts to achieve reduced supply chai costs.

  • Develop, compile, reconcile, and/ or update information in vendor and stock databases to provide effective processing, information management and reporting.

  • Co-ordinate the overall operation of company’s purchasing function to ensure goods, works and services are provided at the most competitive rates.

  • Obtain quotations for the purchase of goods, works and services to limits authorized by the company management.

  • Communicate with company’s suppliers to ensure the most up-to-date data is available for the supply of goods and services and ensure the purchased products/services are of high quality.

  • Co-ordinate, monitor and review the tender and quotation process for the company.

  • Examine performance requirements, delivery schedules and estimates of costs of materials, equipment and production to ensure completeness and accuracy.

  • Preparation of reports and assign duties, tasks, and coaches to subordinates and review their work Other duties as required. 

Job Requirements

Requirements 

  • Good knowledge of local and foreign purchases

  •  Demonstrated customer service skills and high level communication (Verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including negotiation and dispute resolution skills

  • Experience in planning, organizing, prioritizing and co-coordinating work in a changing environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines

  • Ability to use a range of computer applications

  • FMCG experience is advantages 

Qualification

  • B.A Degree or Diploma in Procurement and supplies Management, Purchasing & Supplies Management, Management,

Experience:

  • 4 years and above for Degree and 6 years and above for Diploma
