Job Summary   :

• The Senior Accountant reviews, verifies, checks the completeness and adequacy of financial documents.

• Inspects & tests books of accounts for accuracy and performs other advanced general accounting tasks;

• Follows up budget requisition, consolidation, endorsement and implementation of other matters related to the funds/projects/offices assigned;

• Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and expenses incurred to project operation;

• Verifies that bank statements are reconciled with the book of accounts;

• Verifies that expenditures are justified, properly made and signed and charged to correct accounts/fund/project budget;

• Ensures that the financial books are always kept up-to-date, timely closed and audited;

• Prepares periodic and end-of-period financial reports and statements resulting from subsidiary and general ledger accounts;

• Undertakes analysis on financial statements and other financial matters of the assigned projects/programs/branch office.

• Assist and advice the project management teams & officers in all financial related matters.

Number of Position: 1 (One)

Salary        : As per Organization’s scale and negotiable

Language: Proficiency in English & Tigrigna

Terms of Employment: One year contract with possibility of extension based on availability of budget and performance

Job Requirements

Qualifications; 

• Second or First Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance and related fields of study 

• at least 10/12 years of relevant work experience.  Training in Peachtree accounting software application and IPSAS.
