The Opportunity:
The position will be undertaking all tasks for project management on field level in the implementation of the Food security and agriculture components of the programme incorporating Climate Resilient Agriculture in accordance with Plan’s Child Cemented Community Development (CCCD approach. He/she ensure that quality project deliveries are reflected within the entire project cycle and that all field program implementation is undertaken efficiently and effectively. The position holder technically works closely with the Healthy Village team at EPA, CO and supports the programme teams to ensure proactive engagement in the area of networking and collaboration, learning and knowledge management within the broader organization and with another partner organization.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications/ experience essential:
BSC Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Agriculture, or related disciplines.
3 to 5 years of work experience with considerable experience in managing multidimensional projects on integrated WASH, Health & Nutrition as well as hands-on experience on child growth monitoring, food & nutrition security focusing on climate resilient agriculture, NSA. NGO experience will be advantageous.
Knowledge of
Experience working on food, nutrition security projects including supply and use of new nutrition inputs
Governmental food security programmes such as the Productive Safety-Net Programme (PSNP), National Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture strategy and Agricultural Growth Program (AGP)
Experience on working in nutrition project and child growth monitoring. This includes child feeding, child growth monitoring and promotion/GMP/ related works.
Governmental led nutrition programmes like National Nutrition Strategy
Train and build skills of HEWs/HWs, community representatives, caregivers and local actors at cluster level in the fields of nutrition-sensitive agriculture, MUS as well as community climate change resilience.
Experience on complementary feeding and caring practices, nutrition and hygiene education, counselling, homestead and school gardening, entrepreneurs selling nutrition products, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture.
Experience in promoting the production of nutritious food and dietary diversity as well as improve food storage, and availability and intake of nutritious (micronutrient-rich) food at household and community level
Experience in creating awareness/training about the importance of adequate nutritional intake, meeting minimum dietary diversity for women (particularly pregnant and lactating) and adolescent girls and nutrition education households/ communities with aim to address undernutrition in PLW and future mothers, addressing the link between maternal and child health
Organise community food cooking demonstrations and informative sessions on food hygiene for caregivers to improve ‘reproductive, maternal, new-born and child health’, nutrition practices and care-seeking behaviours
Experience in establishing VESA/VSLA, training them and skill back up to them by continuous follow up & support with special focus on nutrition marketing
Experience in conducting field level assessments for nutrition and child growth related works.
Experience in capacity building of partners and staff, training of zonal, woreda and kebele staff on the various food and nutrition practices.
General finance, administration, information management and proficiency in information technology/computer skill.
Excellent report writing skill
Ability to deliver quality programs in a short term and work under stressful conditions.
Proven ability to work in a team environment and independently.
Excellent written, verbal communication skills in English and Local Language.
Qualifications/ experience desirable:
MSc Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Agriculture, or related disciplines.
3 years of work experience for master’s degree with considerable experience in managing multidimensional projects on integrated WASH, Health & Nutrition as well as hands-on experience on child growth monitoring, food & nutrition security focusing on climate resilient agriculture, NSA. NGO experience will be advantageous
