The Opportunity:
The Entrepreneur & Economic Empowerment Officer will be responsible to ensure support and linkages to the Value Chain developments, VESA/Village Economic & Social associations/, Youth Economic Empowerment and innovation program components for the Healthy Village project-integrated WASH, Food and Nutrition Security incorporating Climate Resilient Agriculture in accordance with Plan’s Child Cemented Community Development (CCCD approach. He/she ensure that quality project deliveries are reflected within the entire project cycle and that all field program implementation is undertaken efficiently and effectively.
The position holder technically works closely with the Healthy Village project coordinator, Tigray PA Manager, field level officers and supports the programme terms to ensure proactive engagement in the area of networking and collaboration, learning and knowledge management within the broader organization and with another partner organization.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications/ experience essential:
BA/BSc degree in Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration, Pedagogy and other related fields.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of humanitarian aid experience applied in emergency/recovery response operations preferably in the area of education in emergency/recovery, refugee experience is more preferable
Basic knowledge on Minimum standards for education highly knowledgeable and conversant of child protection and education in relation to emergencies.
Good understanding and experience in program coordination and management (assessment, designing, planning, implementation, report writing, monitoring and evaluation etc…) and supervisory experience
Demonstrated experience working on emergencies and familiarity with Minimum Standards of Education - preparedness, response and recovery.
Good knowledge of donor grants and contract regulations.
Refugee Response management experience is highly desirable and have added value
Languages required
· Fluency in the English language is essential
· Knowledge of Local Languages is a desirable
