Job Description

The Senior Human Resource Expert is responsible mainly for the administration of day-to-day HRM activities and attracting new candidates for Ovid Academy and other Ovid subsidiary companies by promoting job opportunities using appropriate media and other tactics. The role consists of planning and coordinating of human capital development activities of OVID Academy to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as attracting qualified candidates for a job role, recruitment, selecting the right candidate for that job and on boarding. He/she is also responsible for sourcing, interviewing, and hiring new employees. He/she is also responsible for attracting, motivating, and retaining the most qualified talent by assisting the administrative functions of the different OVID Academy.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Perform all functions of human resource administration for the academy

·         Develop and keep up to date policies relating to employment and other human resources issues.

·         Coordinates employee recruitment, hiring, orientation, and training; and ensures completion of all appropriate paperwork for new employees.

·          Liaise with other managers to determine staffing requirements.

·         Use internal and external systems to advertise job vacancies as appropriate.

·         Process job applications and respond to queries.

  • Conduct reference checks on candidates to ensure that they have good work ethics and experience for the job.

  • Maintain contact with candidates throughout the hiring process to ensure that each step is completed on schedule.

  • Schedule and conducting interviews with candidates to evaluate their suitability for the job.

  • Recommend candidates for hiring based on their qualifications, skills, and compatibility with the company culture.

  • Interviews and screens applicants to determine whether they are qualified for the requested position.

·         Ensure compliance with employment and data protection related legal requirements.

  • Resolves applicants’ concerns or issues by providing them with information about the hiring process or referring them to someone else who can help them.

·         Performs other related duties as required or as assigned.

 Job Requirements

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE 

  • A bachelor’s degree (BA Degree) in HRM, management, or business administration and related fields.

  • Five or more years’ experience as a HRM expert of which at least 2 years at senior level is required.

  • Successful senior‐level administrative leadership experience certificate is preferable.

  • Relevant training and/or certifications in the above areas of responsibility is highly desirable.

GENERAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization.

  • ability to hunt and retain talented employees,

  • ability to organize work, meet deadlines, prioritize work under pressure.

  • ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team,

  •  ability to deliver outputs within tight time frames, 

  • Familiarity with personnel standards and regulations at the federal/regional level is required.

  • Computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other specific HRM packages.

  • NATURE OF WORK AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer monitor and phone. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is usual. Sitting for extended periods is common.  Work needs good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, copiers, and FAX machines. The job is performed indoors in a standard office setting.
