Astco, a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company based in Akaki, Ethiopia, manufactures pasta and flour under its popular Chef Luca brand. The company is aiming to increase its market share by making its premium quality products more accessible to consumers through an optimized out-growers sourcing strategy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identifying and contracting capable integrators and traders to secure year on year Durum & Soft wheat supply as per contracting and supply schedule,

• Coordinating the timely disbursement of output-financing and ensuring the repayment as per the schedule defined,

• Coordinating the weekly monitoring of contracted traders stock level and proposing actions to ensure timely deliveries,

• Ensuring a constant and accurate information flow to Deputy head of clusters regarding Durum & Soft wheat price, quantity, quality produced, competition in assigned area of coverage and potential area of expansion,

•  Supervising assigned storage centers management and Durum & Soft wheat inventory quality maintenance, ensuring the strict execution of warehouse SOPs,

• Conduct or supervise the implementation of the preliminary Durum & Soft wheat shipment prior to delivery to the factory,

• Establishing good linkages with relevant local Ethiopian administration to support the development of the Durum & Soft wheat clusters (Relevant zonal/woreda stakeholders),

• Ensuring execution of promotional activities,

• Participating in the evaluation process of suppliers for credit allocation, coordinating credit contract signing by all parties (zonal legal offices, DARA etc.), collection and verification of post-dated checks and supporting documents (Business License, TIN, Bank book copy etc.)

• Participating in the development of the promotional and communication strategy as well as overseeing with communities,

• Ensuring the execution of agriculture department SOPs by subordinates,

• Leading , motivating and training the collaborators, subordinates and partners.

• Supporting company’s effort on all commodities in its region when requested to.

Job Requirements

• Timely execution of the Durum & Soft wheat contracting plan as per yearly harvest plan and Durum & Soft wheat supply budget,

• Timely delivery of the contracted Durum & Soft wheat as per  plan (for clusters and integrators) to  the Durum & Soft wheat storage centers /rented warehouses or directly to the factory,

• Relevance, accuracy and suitability of reporting on Durum & Soft wheat markets in regional areas,

• Accuracy of weekly report on suppliers stock status and related action plan,

• Increased development of network with stakeholders to ensure required additional sourcing,

• No major incidents linked to the breach of the company’s SOPs,

• Improvement of companies image and popularity in areas of intervention

RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS

Academic qualification: BSC/Msc degree Supply chain/Agribusiness/Procurement and/or related fields

Working experience: Employee will have 5 years of experience of which at least 3 in the sector relevant to the JD.

Language: English, Amharic and Oromiffaa
