Position: Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Case Worker
Duty Station: Tanqua Milash (Tigray)
Duration of Contract: Temporary contract up to December 31, 2023

Job Summary
The Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Case Worker will work under field case manager supervision in the field and provide case management services to GBV survivors. The incumbent also supports the protection sector in the quality implementation of the GBV thematic area in synergy with the larger protection and community services components. She will be responsible for all GBV activities in the Women and Girls’ Friendly Space (WGFS), assessing women and girls’ immediate needs, developing immediate care and treatment goals, and implementing and monitoring women and girls ’care action plans.
o Provide direct, one-on-one, and ongoing case management services, including safety planning.
o Conduct all steps of the case management process: Intake, assessment, and engagement, case planning, supported referrals, developing practical skills, case review, and building client capacity.
o Work closely with other stakeholders to integrate the survivors back into the community and enhance access to livelihood opportunities for GBV survivors to support their healing and reintegration process.
o Offer basic psychosocial support services to survivors. Determine the need for therapeutic psychosocial or psychiatric support for further referral to specialized service providers.
o Ensure that all the GBV interventions adhere to protection standards and principles as well as FH guidelines and accountability standards.
o Working with ‘at risk’ young people, their families, community, to strengthen community-based interventions.
o Provide information on available services and support survivors’ informed choices through referral, accompaniment, service coordination and follow-up, and participation in referral systems/pathways.
o Carry out routine visits to their home, and the protection/safe houses, and assess the needs of the survivors under safekeeping and the general state of safe houses.
o Ensure up-to-date filing and documentation of GBV cases in line with FH standard tools.
o Contribute to the daily quality implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of GBV-related projects and interventions in the area of jurisdiction.
o Working in close collaboration with the protection team, she/he will proactively contribute to the quality and timely writing of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
o Exemplify core principles of GBV programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, non-violence, and promotion of gender equality.
o Provide social support special for the affected population including awareness raising/information dissemination on rights, access to services, regulations, and other relevant topics.
o Led the GBV prevention program and Implementation of GBV awareness-raising and prevention/outreach activities.
o Identify the age, gender, and disability-sensitive risks, threats, and vulnerabilities with regular monitoring of well-being and negative coping strategies.
o Undertaking other project tasks as required.
o Uphold FH’s code of conduct and principles of accountability.

Experience
⮚ A minimum of three years of experience working with GBV survivors and especially in a humanitarian setting and/or advocacy programs is an added advantage.
Education/Certifications
⮚ University degree in Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Social Work and Social Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or relevant fields.

Language
⮚ Proficiency in both spoken and written English. Knowledge of the local language of the intervention area is preferred.
