GITEC-IGIP GmbH is providing consultancy services for a project entitled “Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity in Priority Protected Areas in Ethiopia”. This project is funded by KfW (Germany Development Bank), and the client is the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority (EWCA). GITEC-IGIP GmbH provides consultancy services for the management of two priority protected areas, namely Simen Mountains and Bale Mountains National Parks. GITEC-IGIP now requires the services of two drivers, all of whom will be based at the EWCA office in Senga Tera, Addis Ababa. The successful applicants will be required to start their work as soon as possible.

Job Requirements

Requirement

• Valid 3rd class driver's license.

• Diploma/ TVET, Certificate/TVET or High School Graduate.

• Training in auto mechanics is preferred.

• Ten years of experience, including at least three years driving four-wheel drive (4WD)/field vehicles. Experience in rural and wildlife-protected areas of the country preferred.

• Basic English spoken and written. Knowledge of both Amharic and Oromiffa is an advantage. 

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in an international organization is preferred.

• Willingness to work away from the workplace and in rural and wildlife areas for extended periods of time.

• No serious accident within the last three years.
