Job Description

The Greek Community School is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual for the position of Cambridge School Coordinator. The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the effective implementation of the Cambridge curriculum and ensuring the smooth operation of the school. They will play a key role in supporting teachers, developing curriculum materials, and maintaining strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities:

Academic Duties:

  • Connect the school with the Cambridge school support hub to access Cambridge resources.

  • Collect and distribute resources and tools for teachers.

  • Assess professional needs and lead professional development sessions for teachers.

  • Oversee curriculum review and facilitate curriculum development across the school.

  • Design classroom materials and curricula in collaboration with subject teachers and department heads.

  • Manage conferences and workshops.

  • Provide guidance and support to academic trainees.

  • Extracurricular Duties:

  • Supervise the hiring committee in screening and hiring applications.

  • Lead internal and external communication of the school.

  • Coordinate and evaluate academic trips.

  • Supervise the admission committee for students' admission and registration processes.

  • Coordinate the procurement committee for the purchase of services, goods, and supplies for school operations.

  • Oversee and design a peaceful working environment for staff members.

  • Monitor drug and prohibited issues in the school.

Employment Type:   Contract for one year

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education (Bachelor of Education).

  • Preferably a second degree in Communication, Educational Psychology, Sociology, or Curriculum.

  • Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience, with at least 6 years in Cambridge schools.

  • Preferably experience in a school leadership position.

  • Experience in preparing or developing Cambridge curriculum books or resources is highly advantageous.

  • Proven experience in preparing school administrative manuals or directives.

  • Proven experience in resolving conflicts between employers and employees in a school setting.

  • International travel experiences and participation in international conferences, trainings, events, or fairs are highly advantageous.

  • Knowledge of Ethiopian labor proclamation and commercial code proclamation.

  • Knowledge of educational policies and trends on a national and international scale.

  • Any Cambridge diploma or certificate will be an added advantage.
