Job Description:

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) strives to address nutrition and health-related problems through operational research and generating evidence to inform policy and the effective implementation of health and nutrition programs in Ethiopia. To this end, the Food Sciences and Nutrition Research Directorate is planning to conduct a survey to assess dietary intakes and anthropometric status of adolescents and their caregivers. The survey will be implemented in Addis Ababa and Butajira town.

Responsibilities:

1.Collaborate with data collectors to collect relevant data from adolescents and their caretakers in their homes.

2. Ensure that data collection teams have all the necessary survey supplies.

3. Work with central coordinators to develop a plan for household data collection.

4. Supervise the daily implementation of data collection.

5. Assist in resolving any issues that data collection teams may encounter, such as locating households, understanding the questionnaire, or dealing with respondents.

6. Complete supervision checklists for randomly selected adolescent and caregiver interviews.

7. Re-assess one record at each health post to verify the accuracy of data collection.

8. Complete and send daily progress tracking forms to central coordinators.

9. Collaborate with data managers to rectify data collection errors.

10.  Serve as a backup enumerator for data collection teams.

11.  Ensure that data is sent to a central server daily.

12.  Undertake any other necessary activities to complete the survey.

Job Requirements

· Bachelors or Masters in nutrition, public health, nursing, food science, or related fields.

· Experience in data collection or supervision of data collection is required.

· Experience in collecting 24-hour recall intake and anthropometric data is advantageous.

· Specializations in nutrition, public health, or nursing with at least two years of experience are preferred.

· Proficiency (oral and written)  in both Amharic and English is mandatory.

·  Experience with electronic data collection tools such as Open Data Kit, Survey Solutions, or Survey CTO is advantageous.

· Willingness to work on weekends is required.

· Qualified Female Candidates are encouraged to apply.

· Excellent communication skills.
