Facilitate legal services between External Legal Advisor of WVE (Liaising between WVE and External Legal advisor includes availing legal issues in to the attention of External Legal Advisor, collecting relevant documents and evidence for the consumption of External legal advisor, deliberation sessions on legal issues with External Legal advisor, producing legal opinion of External Legal advisor to WVE with separate own opinion/if any/, verify and facilitate payment to External Legal advisor)
Follow up Court Cases handled by external legal advisor and report accordingly.
Give legal opinion on different legal issue after consultation with External Legal advisor.
Provide and/or facilitate legal related pieces of training to the appropriate Management and Non-management staff of the organization.
Assist and/or follow-up investigation processes that may have direct or indirect legal implications.
If requested to represent the Organization before the court of law, on Labor court Case, Contractual Court cases, Extra-contractual court cases and Construction related Court cases.
Facilitate Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Forums like Arbitration, Mediation, and Negotiation for conflicts and potential Conflicts that may arises intra and inter the organization.
To update the organization about newly promulgated laws and cassation court decisions of the land. Upgrade legal knowledge by participating and attending in legal forums and associations.
Prepare and submit monthly a legal report based on the generic. Carry out and facilitate debriefing of new cases, case update meetings, regular meetings with external Legal Advisor as per agreed schedules.
Review MOUs, Contract agreements, Partnership Agreements, various legal related documents for all HUBs, APs, CPOs and HO.
Review page-by-page and make analysis of various contract documents
Accurately interpret the terms of a contract and verify the details of the agreement.
Under supervision of GR Associate Director; plans, organizes, and maintains document management procedures. Government Relations
Develops and maintains relationships with counterparts within ACSO, as well as with other partners such as government ministries and agencies, in order to provide WVE with the information it needs. This includes keeping track of official documents such as agreements and requests, as well as planning and coordinating meetings.
Establishes and/or strengthens relationships with important parties to ensure accurate and timely information exchange between stakeholders.
Creates agendas and accompanying materials for management meetings with representatives from local governments and other stakeholders.
Keep electronic filing current and maintain documentation of decisions, correspondence, and actions regarding liaison concerns.
Work closely with the various units, under the direction of the Government Relations Manager, to follow up on various support letters, and permissions, including duty-free permits, bank account opening and closing, change of signatories, etc.
Remain in constant communication and interaction with the relevant government ministries and departments regarding protocol issues; and provide management with appropriate recommendations. As needed, draft correspondence.
Take care of issuing work and residency permits, as well as diplomatic IDs, licenses, and driver's licenses, to qualified staff and their dependents.
Handle specialized tasks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration Department, Airports Authority, and Ministry of Finance to get different clearances, share VIP security information, and request landing permissions, among other things.
Create and manage a monitoring system for problems with government relations. Update each case's status, and provide regular reports to the supervisor.
Establish and maintain an appropriate filing and archiving system for papers pertaining to government relations for the office. Additionally, ensure that personnel files are kept current and contain information about GR-related issues.
Keep the contact information for the ministries and local authorities that WVE collaborates with current, including contact people and documentation needs.
Follow up with the appropriate government office on a regular basis to get the most recent information on regulations pertaining to visas, work permits, tax exemption requirements, customs clearance, etc.; and provide advise to WVE personnel.
Create pertinent SOPs for GR concerns.
Writing letters and internal procedural rules pertaining to GR concerns
Deliver prompt and effective support for WVE's major events.
Any other necessary relevant help.
Makes valuable contributions to communities of practice and knowledge networks
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Bachelor’s degree in LLB International Relations, Diplomacy, Political Science or Public Relations or related field
At least 5 years’ experience
Understanding of the country’s Legal and political environments
Knowledge on country policy priorities
Knowledge and experience of protocol in a government, international organization, civil society, regional economic blocks including experience of working with the Host Government
Strategic thinker and detail oriented
Strong network and influencing skills.
Strong public speaking skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Knowledge and experience of organizing high level government events
Ability to identify issues, formulate opinions, make conclusions and recommendations.
Demonstrates effective computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite, intranet and Internet and databases used in work efforts.
