It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies.

Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations.

MdM currently works in 30 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority areas: emergency and crisis, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, migrants and displaced populations (health rights), health and environment.

MdM is operating in Ethiopia since 1986 in different types of health projects from long-term interventions to emergency response.

In Tigray, the region has only started to recover from a devastating armed conflict between TPLF and the federal army that left millions of people traumatized and in desperate need of humanitarian assistance. MdM has recently opened a new EU-funded project in consortium with an Ethiopian partner to address war traumas and provide primary healthcare and nutrition services to the population in east Tigray.

DESCRIPTION DU POSTE :

Under the supervision of the general coordinator, you will be responsible for revising the tools, and updating the content of MdM security pack in Ethiopia. You will also be required to conduct field visits in the following base offices : in Chinaksen (Oromia), Yalo & Semera (Afar) and Aksum (Tigray)

Your main responsibilities are the following:

Context analysis

• Prepare and organize for each base/office participatory workshops with relevant team members

• Update, review and prepare, as needed, the risk analysis, security rules, contingency plans and stakeholder mapping

• Ensure the security network and contact list is updated

• Suggest tools and processes to improve context and security monitoring

• Train relevant staff members on analysis of the context, collection of relevant data, analysis of trends, incident reporting, and information sharing within the mission

Security management tools

• Review the existing security package in collaboration with key staff members involved in security management at mission and base level

• Propose amendements and/or change of format of the various existing security documents

• Finalize mission and base-level money management protocols in collaboration with the finance coordinator

CONDITIONS D'EMPLOI :

Contrat : Volunteer - VSI (French status)

Durée : 3 months

Starting date: as soon as possible
Based in Addis Ababa with visits to project areas
915 euros/month + perdiem
Transportation cost, vaccines and visas covered
Guesthouse housing
2 paid leaves per month for contracts of 6 months or more.
Social coverage (100% covered by MdM)

PROFIL RECHERCHE :

Strong knowledge and understanding of security management principles, practices, and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts in a clear and concise manner
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging and dynamic environments
Relevant certifications or training in security management is an asset.
Languages: fluent in English (written and spoken),
knowledge of local languages is an asset
