About the Organization:
VisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is an Institution established according to proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in the rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. VisionFund is currently operating in five of the Regional States of the country. VisionFund MFI is currently looking candidates for the position of Manager, Engineering Service Division. The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:
1. JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of Credit Service and Portfolio Management Director, The position holder will be responsible for planning, organizing, leading, controlling and reporting engineering service activities. He/she will report to Credit Service and Portfolio management Director.
2. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Undertakes the property valuation activity of the Institution as per policy and procedure
• Prepare TOR for selection of Design Consulting Jury for own building construction, review TOR for consultant and actively participate in the selection of consultant.
• Review designs (architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical) and bid documents and participate in contractor selection.
• Review the contract document for design supervision and contract administration, and along with the Design Consulting Jury, review contract documents prepared for the contractor by designated consultants.
• Review and verify payment requests related to construction project, modification or maintenance works and propose payment.
• Follow up and report progress of construction projects as per the predefined particulars and handle issues arising amid construction through close consultation with the relevant bodies of the Institution.
• Supervise and coordinate renovation and modification works at Branch Offices.
• Review standard design and specification of counters, cash cages, sign boxes and follow-up their production and installation vis-à-vis specification.
• Coach and mentor staff under supervision towards effective career development;
• Evaluate the periodic performance of his/her staff;
• Manage disciplinary concerns of supervised staff.
• Undertake similar activities when assigned by his supervisor.
• Masters or BSC degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or related engineering fields
• A minimum of 7/9 years of demonstrated work experience.
• Extensive knowledge and skill in applying engineering practices, principles and technics in financial institutions
• Ability to deal with a dynamic operational environment and work within timelines.
• Keeping up-to-date with professional changes in engineering standards and property valuation
