Job Description
Number of Employees Needed: Five
Duty Station : Addis Ababa, Bahirdar ,Hawassa,Mekelle and Semera
Major Responsibility:
Ensure FMNR integrated into World Vision Ethiopia's new and existing programs and projects at the regional level for the scale up
Ensure the strengthening of existing Regional platform, by coordinating, engaging and network with relevant government offices, academic institutions , FBO and CBO in the regional and Area Program districts, ensure inclusive, and bottom up planning process for the FMNR Scale up
Regional Advocacy on sustainable natural resources (water, soil & trees) management and its link to sustainable land management and livelihood improvement through natural regeneration approach (FMNR)
Integrating with sponsorship and other livelihood and re-greening projects and closely work with designate Region’s and district sector staff and administration as well as other contributing partners towards leveraging resources and increasing outcomes for FMNR Scale
Actively participate in regional networks in landscape restoration to raise the profile of FMNR, and the work of WV Ethiopia
Work collaboratively with World Vision Ethiopia’s FMNR Scale up project and Environment and Climate Change Technical Team to mobilize and empower external partners to support FMNR scaling, ensuring an integrated and harmonized approach that promotes synergies
Ensure External partners mobilized and empowered to integrate FMNR into their actions and investments at the Regional level
Liaison AP’s to maintains detailed schedules of activity and budget implementation tracking systems for activities monitoring and budget utilization for Demonstration and Learning Site(DLS)
Ensure to prepare, and submit quarterly, biannual and annual plan and report activities undertaken as required to pace forward to the desired goal of the project including donor report
Work in collaboration with teams under this project as well as other units in at most professional manner as deemed necessary.
In discussion with the FMNR Scale up Lead, represent WVE on coordination forums and meetings relevant to restoration programming at the Regional and Zonal to enhance networking and partnership development.
Facilitate and conduct trainings and/or capacity building on conceptual understanding of the FMNR and sustainable land management and undertake other related tasks as appropriate.
Ensure mainstreaming the project into relevant cross cutting issues/ Gender, Disability, Protection, Peace Building, job creation etc.
Ensure appropriate integration of gender, WASH, Education, child protection, community voice in action and disability in the project intervention especially in the Regional Hub and AP level
Ensure the existence of strategic networks at AP level with relevant stakeholders and community volunteers for scaling up of FMNR as on of priory land scape restoration
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:
MA/MsC in Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, NRM, relevant field and NGOs experience is preferred, coordinator or senior expert level
Excellent knowledge and skills on Livelihood interventions
Experience in advocacy projects is commendable
Significant bi-lateral donor grant experience with program implementation, funding acquisition, and reporting
Must be a creative individual with strong sense of priorities and organizational skills and an ability to work with diverse teams across considerable distances
Required Professional Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of work experience in NRM/Forestry/Agro-Forestry. FMNR experience is preferable.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and strong interpersonal skills are needed
Must be able to negotiate ideas within and outside the World Vision partnership, particularly with donor communities and government.
Excellent experience in proposal development, budget preparation and report writing;
Good knowledge of oral and written English language.
Working knowledge of BSL, FMNR Model.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
Experience in roles in NRM, landscape restoration and/or forestry
Experience in stakeholder engagement and networking
Demonstrated experience in organizing and facilitating training and capacity building in NRM (experience in FMNR is considered an advantage)
Must be a creative individual with strong sense of priorities and organizational skills and an ability to work with diverse teams across considerable distances
Must be able to negotiate ideas within and outside the World Vision partnership, particularly with donor communities and government.
Optimum level of interpersonal skills to keep up internal and external harmonious working relation
Quick learner with ability to think strategically and creatively
Excellent ability to meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Federal language/s
Proficient computer literacy using of Microsoft Office Microsoft Word, Excel & MS Power Point
