Job Description
The Distribution Manager is responsible for looking after our outbound logistics operation, making sure our finished products are planned, transported, stored, and distributed timely, efficiently and in a safe manner. The position holder will look after intercompany transfer of FG from plant and Primary and Secondary distribution of our products, as well as Agro logistics.
The position holder needs to closely work with Plant team, commercial team, planning lead to ensure the core business needs are fulfilled.
The Distribution Manager is responsible for managing the Distribution team and manage fuel consumption and petty cash dispensation.
Planning of primary distribution trucks for daily transport of finished goods from factory to Addis Ababa warehouse
Assigning and monitoring drivers for different routes, operation
Deployment and control of fleet with GPS system.
Registering, monitoring, and paying per dime for the drivers
Registering, monitoring, and submitting driver’s overtime on monthly basis to HR
Scheduling for service and maintenance together with fleet manager
Assure neatness/ representative look of company-owned fleet and drivers.
Guarantee 0 preventable downtime in truck operations by arranging backup trucks.
Track and document service requirements and tire and fuel usage. Work with fleet manager for frequent maintenance of company-owned primary transport.
Monitor trip durations and develop 'ideal' trip duration goals for supply from warehouse to various locations in the assigned division.
Receiving yearly, quarterly, and monthly UC sales forecast from UC sales manager
Planning the deliveries together with the UC sales manager, assigning trucks and drivers according to the plan
Receiving the Agro team plan on monthly, and weekly basis
Scheduling the receiving of potato from different farms together with Agro team
Financial processes

Experience & skills required
Education:
BA degree in logistics/Supply chain management (or equivalent)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as Distribution, Logistics roles in FMCG sector, with 3 years managerial experiences.
