Job Description
Scope of Role
Under the direction of Logistics and Distribution Manager the Logistics Assistant is responsible for all warehouse operation activities including shipping and receiving, overseeing storage, deliveries, documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining records, maintaining cleanliness and keeping the products organized and as such look after the property of the company.
Purpose of Role
To ensure the correctness in the quality, quantity, specifications, condition of the materials received from vendors.
To stock the materials received from vendors and plant properly as to ensure easy access identification, verification, handling, maintenance etc.
To ensure proper stocking of materials by using appropriate method of care and preservation to avoid any damage and loss.
To ensure a smooth issue of materials to the user department.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Allocate locations with store demarcation and label (full-goods, quarantine on hold)
Manage target stock level
Perform inventory & cycle counts
Record full goods received from plant and issued to market, empties received from agents and issued to plant
Track stock transfer with plant
Prepare in advance for & undertake daily count and month end count timely & explain variances if any.
Receives and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders; processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders; Verifies that supplies received are listed on requisitions and invoices.
Reports, documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received.
Keep stores, tags and tracks received goods, documents storage and transportation stock records.
Disseminate the supply in its designated areas; facilitate the loads and unloads of materials.
Makes in-house deliveries of requested orders to staff and maintains records of all in-house deliveries; Compiles records of supply transactions.
Ships canceled and damaged items back to vendors as appropriate.
Maintains the warehouse, records area and stores area in a neat and orderly manner and keeps out unauthorized people.
Answers questions regarding procedures and resolves discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs and surplus property.
Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes.
Oversee forklift operators, temporary or contract workers as needed.
Perform the above and other related works as assigned by his/her supervisor.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics/ Accounting/Management/ Purchasing and Supplies Management or related field of studies
Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a store keeper/ warehouse officer with good inventory and warehouse management skill
Skills:
Knowledge of warehouse procedures
Skill in effectively communicating and interacting with management and employees
Good Knowledge of ERP systems (Sage, SAP, Navision)
An awareness of safety, health and environment issues
Knowledge on stock management and record keeping
Strong analytical skills, results oriented, quick learner
Proactive approach to preventive and curative of any stock
