Job Summary

Perform the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems in factories, warehouses, production areas. Supervise a team of electricians to ensure all work performed adheres to  the required safety, electrical, and building codes.

Job Responsibilities and duties

• Ensures operation of machinery and electrical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.

• Orders all electrical spares and maintains inventory

• Perform operational repairs as required to support asset management 

• With limited supervision, constructs commercial office space by providing overall electrical capabilities, 

• General knowledge of building codes, regulations and safety procedures;

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, install and repair electrical parts, machines, drives, equipment and systems.

• Safely work with Multiphase, High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical systems.

• Troubleshoot and resolve control networks, instrumentation, PLC, HMI, VFD, servo and control problems.

• Read and interpret work orders, safety rules, mechanical and electrical drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations of 5s.

• Control down time by executing preventive maintenance and performing proper breakdown analysis (BDA) & RCFA

• Perform prescribed Preventative Maintenance.

• Maintain accurate and complete records, document all work performed appropriately.

• Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by reporting low supply levels to Supervisor

• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.

• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.

• Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.

• Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, Hot work ,fall restraints, etc.

• Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.

• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.

• Soft skills including a positive attitude, flexibility and conflict resolution

• The ability to solve problems creatively on time

• Having up-to-date knowledge and technical skills

• Capacity building on his/her team.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education 

• BSc Degree in Industrial Electricity, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Machine Drive or diploma in electrical engineering and related fields.

Experience 

• Minimum of 4 years experience  for Bsc and 6 years for a diploma in similar production lines. 

Competencies 

• Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.

• Attain and maintain required certifications.

• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.

• Effectively work in a team environment.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to urgent repairs.

• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks)
