Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Intern Communications Officer will be responsible for designing communications materials, including developing and reviewing of case studies, photo/video/audio stories, reports, and social media contents. S/he will familiarize her/himself with Concern’s and donors’ branding guidelines and communications and visibility requirements, and review communications and visibility materials for compliance.
Main duties & Responsibilities:
Programme Implementation and Partnership
Communications and Visibility
Become familiar with donors’ Concern’s visibility guidelines and requirements, as well as brand guidelines, and review communication and visibility materials to ensure their compliance with applicable requirements and guidelines;
Take over the communications and visibility plan for 2023, and follow up and support its implementation;
Become properly familiar with Case Story Writing Guideline and Photo/Picture Taking Guideline of Concern and the Grants Team, and support their implementation.
Become familiar with Communications Strategy Plan and work closely with Grants Team to implement communications and visibility activities as outlined in the communication and visibility strategy plan of the Country Office;
Support the publication and promotion of organizational materials, developing newsletters and other country specific publications, and monitor social and print media coverage;
Take active part in developing and communicating advocacy messages;
Be a focal point person for communications and visibility activities of the Country Office;
Oversee the quality and timeliness of the production of internal communications materials, and ensure that all communications and visibility products and deliverables for external audience are appropriately branded;
Plan for editing and writing content for a variety of internal communications (including internal monthly update reports);
Ensure that crosscutting themes like participation, gender, inclusion, safeguarding and protection are mainstreamed in all internal communications and visibility works.
Work closely with procurement and programme teams to coordinate with external suppliers on production of appropriately branded communication and visibility materials.

Personal specification
Essential
Bachelor (BA) Degree in Communications, English Language and Literature, or Journalism from a recognized University/College;
No work experience Expected
Good skills in story writing, report writing, and communications material development;
Good interpersonal skills and teamwork;
Good computer proficiency: adequate familiarity with and use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, or other graphic design software is an added advantage.

Willing to take on new responsibilities, within reason and if needed
Willingness to travel to and stay for days in field offices and project sites
