Summary:
The U.S. Mission in Addis Ababa/Ethiopia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Guard Driver/Mobile Patrol.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (48 hours per week)
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

The Mobile Patrol Driver serves as a member of the U.S. Embassy Local Guard Force (LGF) under the direct supervision of the Guard Supervisor. Incumbent operates under the direct supervision of the LGF Shift Supervisor. He/she serves as a driver for the LGF Shift Supervisor while on mobile patrol or responding to emergency situations. The Incumbent is also responsible for transporting LGF relief guards, RSO personnel, Local Security Office personnel, and other individuals as directed by the RSO.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years experience in driving passengers and cargo is required, part of which should be as a security chauffeur is required.
Education Requirements:
EDUCATION: High/Secondary school diploma is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Amharic Level 4 (Fluent) in reading, written and spoken is required. (This may be tested)
English language Level 2 (Limited knowledge) in reading, written and spoken is required. (This may be tested)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to understand the security control panel and to operate emergency alarms and the public address system. Ability to use state-of-the-art security and radio communication equipment. Ability to use Automated External Defibrillator. Ability to use fire extinguisher. Ability to use personal protective equipment (i.e. PR-24, straight batons, pepper spray, handcuffs, and flexi cuffs, etc.). Daily duties may involve extended periods of walking and/or standing in a wide variety of weather conditions. May be required to take/pass a physical fitness test. Must have a minimum Grade-3 driving license. Must have had a valid driver's license for a minimum of five (5) years. (These may be tested).

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
