Habesha Breweries S.C. is looking for an Export Manager.

The Role Summary

The export manager is responsible for the development of an export strategy for the business. Come up with deployment plans for the markets identified as potential markets to export to. Consistently explore opportunities for export and develop market opportunities for our products. The export manager has responsibility for the entire business development strategy and deployment of sustenance of the business in the markets. He must provide the leadership necessary to bind the people from different departments working on developing business development, involved in supply planning and logistics, into one team to drive necessary growth.

Main objectives of the role 

• To explore the market and come up with a business development strategy for export.

• To conduct feasibility studies of markets to export our products.

• To secure export orders.

• To ensure timely shipment of goods as per prescribed norms of quality and other specifications including terms and conditions agreed to between the exporter and the importer.

Responsible for 

• Establish export business outside of Ethiopia.

• Monitor profitability of the operations and flag issues proactively to the management team

• Conduct expansion plans long and short term to develop export business.

• Conduct regular feasibility studies to explore opportunities to export products.

• Develop a proper RTM plan for the distribution of the markets.

• Recruit and develop strong distribution agents in the market.

• Manages the services and performance of agents, third party providers, and other relationships.

• Oversee and maintain the system pertaining to tariff research, binding rules, protests, duty rates, and valuation on import shipments timely and efficient, and in accordance with all applicable laws.

• Establish a strong S&OP plan with the planning team and create accountability in ownership.

• Plan to secure an export order on the markets.

• Planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes.

• Export managers typically supervise a team of warehouse staff or other logistics specialists in different markets.

Job Requirements

The Incumbent:

This role is positioned at the managerial level and requires: -

• A minimum of 8 years experience in logistics or planning or business development or commercial management.

• Must be highly analytical with strong attention to detail.

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics & Distribution, business, and any other related fields

• Able to deal with ambiguities and conflicting priorities, and work under pressure.

• Excellent business proposal preparation and pitching skills.

• Very good utilization of digital media and conversant with social media

• Strong financial acumen is highly recommended

• High-level negotiation skills
