Job Description

The role of the Product Development Coordinator includes the day-to-day management of the product development workstream spanning ideation through market entry. The candidate will be in charge of funneling information between the internal and external stakeholders along with market insights achieved through research to bring about the final product according to established thresholds and company objectives. The Product Development Coordinator will also be in charge of supervising the HQ lab and the Junior Chemist. The role also includes collaborating with the Commercial team to ensure that product and brand are aligned during the development process. 

Purpose of the Role

Starting from market insight of an opportunity or a gap, the product development coordinator will be the main facilitator for providing the best product to fulfill the market’s needs and satisfy company objectives. 

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for overall project management of the NPD workstreams by creating and managing the project plan, schedules and budgets by working closely with all departments, vendors and consultants.

  • Coordinates the development of business plans for new products, including conducting desk and market research to identify market gaps and opportunities, as well as stakeholder management throughout entire project lifecycle.

  • Coordinates the work of internal and external beverage chemists and other technical personnel regarding product formulation, lab setup, required lab equipment, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), shelf-life testing etc.

  • Aligns with the Commercial Department to design, implement, and manage the overall look and feel of the product to ensure the best success of the product in the market

  • Assists with the design and implementation of product development research methodology including segmentation, sample size, survey tool, data collection methods, analysis and reports.

  • Leads the drafting of all reports related to product development, including stakeholder updates, SOPs, lessons learned, product decision matrices, business plans, and strategies.

  • Stays abreast of beverage product trends

Qualification and Experience Required

  • A minimum of 2 years of Project Management experience including- creating budget breakdowns, stakeholder management, timeline and budget management, risk assessment etc

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with various teams within and outside of Komari.

  • First rate communication and presentation skills i.e., ability to engage and lead a discussion with senior business executives within Komari.

  • Excellent command in written and spoken English language

  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing directions, with the ability to update self on the industry and overall work processes to continuously innovate ways of doing work.

  • Highly detail oriented

  • Top level research and analysis capability, for both desk and market research

  • Superb Microsoft Word and email communications, with good abilities in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Analytical or critical thinking and problem-solving acumen

  • Ability to work independently; can prioritize and adjust tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Superior interpersonal skills.
