Brief Company Introduction

The total investment of Shangtex Garment manufacturing Ethiopia PLC exceeds two billion birr, which is one of the largest single investments in Ethiopia.

There are 2 phases of the project which seize 100,000 square meters land in total.

Phase I covers an area of 55,000 square meters, manufacturing area 60,000 square meters, 3 workshop buildings in total with capacity of 10 million pieces per year.

Phase II has 45,000 square meters under planning, focus on Textile and value chain supporting to Phase I.

The domestic parent company from China is Orient International (Holding) CO.LTD which is one of China’s Top 500 Enterprises, ranking 175 and one of the largest importing & exporting companies in China.

The group has more than 20 overseas institutions in America, Europe, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong and other major countries (regions) in the world.

Duties

  • Maintain employee records (both soft and hard copies)

  • Prepare paperwork for HR policies and procedures

  • Coordinate HR projects, meetings and training seminars

  • Provide orientations for new employees by sharing onboarding packages and explaining company policies

  • Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, discipline issures and other related employment matters.

  • Proofreads and types documents and correspondence produced by department

  • Schedules and organizes appointments; takes minutes during departmental meetings

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  1. BA degree in Human resouces, law, managment, social works, business adminstration or other related fields

  2. 0-2 year experience as an HR assistant or adminstrative assistant

  3. Excellent communication skills in both Amharic and English

  4. Excellent organizational and planning skills

  5. Good knowledge of the domestic and international labor and HR legistlation

  6. Computer literacy and experience with MS Office applications ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)

  7. Time managment and ability to work under pressure
