Job Description
Under the direction of the Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and coordinating the implementation of an integrated marketing program, which includes branding identity, strategic message development, advertising, and public relations. Typical responsibilities include: participating in planning and implementing marketing strategies; meeting with departments to provide consultation and to assess products and programs; and, writing and designing proposals, advertisements and internal communication pieces.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The Marketing Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Sales and Marketing Manager with District-wide marketing initiatives.
Confers with department managers, and staff teams to provide marketing consultation. Assesses products and programs and makes recommendations for profit potential via marketing programs. Develops related strategies and provides training on how to implement strategies.
Creates written plans for new marketing initiatives, including budget allocation, message development, creative direction, target audiences, timelines, and/or other related issues.
Develops and designs proposals, advertisements, internal communication pieces, web pages, and/or other related collateral materials and participates and oversees the production of such materials by providing direction to applicable individuals.
Positions in this classification may perform all or some of the responsibilities above and all positions perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Two years of progressively responsible experience in managing marketing and communication activities.
Knowledge and Skills
Supervisory principles;

Media relations principles and practices;
Public information principles and practices;
Program management principles;
Budgeting principles and practices;
Graphic designs, print production, and web publishing principles and practices.

Supervising subordinate staff;

Preparing a wide variety of marketing materials;

Facilitating meetings;
Handling multiple tasks simultaneously;
Developing marketing strategies;

Utilizing computer technology used for communication, data gathering and reporting;
Communicating effectively through oral and written mediums
