Key accountabilities and decision ownership

·        Negotiation and managing of roaming agreements, inter operator tariff (IOT) of International Wholesale Roaming for Safaricom Ethiopia.

·       Identify new roaming partners and facilitate strategic IOT negotiations and appointment thereof and implement relations to expand roaming footprint.

·       Own end-to-end roaming P&L, sales activities, product development and fulfilment in conjunction with EBU & CBU.

·       Improvement of P&L through advantageous deals, P&L analysis and performance assessment, providing clear evidence of the benefits created for the company.

·       Define the business case for roaming agreement and deals to ensure the benefits of the signed roaming agreements.

·       Supporting OpCo’s in the management of wholesale roaming to optimize cost of international roaming while increasing roaming coverage and fulfilling company International Business Strategy.

·       Coordinate with the OpCo Managed Network and Carrier Services teams the global versus local / regional outbound roaming agreements

·       Ensure that there is a defined commercial plan, roaming and wholesale pricing plan and segment value proposition and manage the execution

·       Interact and maintain the key relationship with strategic roaming suppliers & partners to ensure increased cost reductions to stimulate sales growth with increased traffic levels, wholesale revenue and correct roaming rate application

·       Participate and contribute to the implementation of roaming steering solutions and other roaming related projects with Technology and commercial departments

·       Collect, analyze all roaming data, gathering insights and reporting to senior management on trends, volumes, performance of agreements and benchmarking against competitors

·       Generate cost savings from roaming negotiations.

·       Negotiate contract durations and rates and aim to reduce payments and increase settlements

·       Support OpCo with expansion of bilateral footprint and timely coordination of the IREG and TADIG testing, making sure the relationships are open on time as per the OpCo calendar and priorities.

Job Requirements

· First degree or Second Degree in Business, Finance or Technology fields

· +5 years Experience in Commercial  or Sales roles in FMCG, eCommerce, Financial Services or Telecom

Desired

·  Bonus if having an MBA degree

·  Bonus speaking additional foreign languages besides English ( EG French, Somali, Arabic, etc…)

·  International Roaming Budget (P&L)
