 JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Training and Competency Management Manager, the clinical competency management officer would be overall responsible for providing technical support, manage competency assessment of health care providers and provide competency based clinical training.

2.      DUTIES/TASKS

Competency Management

·       Provide theoretical and practical clinical trainings for MSIE and partners clinical staffs.

•     Provide technical support for team to do competency assessment at all level and opportunity.

•     Follow competency assessment done during clinical trainings and quality staff’s induction activities.

•     Maintain the availability of peer competency assessors and trainers in all channels/area program offices.

•     Provide advice and/ supportive supervisoin as and when needed by the clinical team.

•     Assess/Identify training needs of clinical staff in from competency finding in consultation with the concerned Departments.

•     Assesses, prepares, distribute and document relevant competency assessment related information regular, reports, and best practices to concerned work units.

Monitoring and reporting

  • Keeps proper documentation, filing and record keeping of competency and training reports per policy.

  • Work closely with other team especially Clinical Database Officer to maintain competency assessment data base.

  • Provided critical analysis on competency assessment of health care professional

  • Prepare annual plan, reports, and action plan

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the /Training Manager.

Qualification Requirements

Educational

            BSc in public Health, Nursing or Midwifery

Experience

          Four/Six year’s directly experience in:

•      Health services experience gained within the reproductive healthcare sector

•       Experience in providing and / management of FP/RH services and training

•       Experience in health services quality control at national level

•       Proven clinical training, mentoring and coaching skills in Comprehensive Abortion care and Comprehensive family planning

B.     Skills, Attitude and Attributes

·         Strong training and facilitation experience in FP/RH;

·         Good skill in written and spoken English are essential;

·         Good computer skills;

·         High level of interpersonal communication and negotiation skills;

·         Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.

·         Strong report writing skill.

·         Strong personal commitment to the goals of MSI and to put it into practice          

·         Excellent skills in using Microsoft office applications and presentation skills

·         Good interpersonal/communication skills - both oral and written

·         Analytical and planning skills

·         Collaborative approach to team working

·         Pro-choice
