Job Description

BACKGROUND

Our company will develop, in Ethiopia, an oilseeds clusters program to source from contracted out-growers (cluster of farmers, commercial farmers) and oilseeds grains integrators (traders/coops/…) large quantities various oilseeds (sesame, soybeans, sunflower, rapeseeds, groundnuts) to supply its Solvent Extraction Plants.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Securing, year on year, oilseeds (at projected price, required quantity and quality for the harvest year) is contracted from out-growers/ integrators and traders,

  • Planning and timely execution of oilseeds contracting for all target regions,

  • Planning and ensuring timely supply and delivery of required inputs (seeds, fertilizer, plant protection chemicals) to contracted out-growers/integrators  as per contract and as relevant ; ensure their  duly/timely payment,

  • Ensuring the delivery of all contracted grains to oilseeds clusters storage centers/rented warehouses,

  • Coordinating oilseed storage centers management and oilseeds inventory quality maintenance,

  • Collecting, analyzing, periodic reporting on oilseeds markets (price, quantity, competition and quality),

  • Establishing good linkages with relevant Ethiopian administration to support the development of the oilseeds clusters (relevant federal /regional),

  • Participating in the sourcing strategy development, propose to the head of oilseeds and grains clusters relevant plan for oilseeds origination quantity for each target region,

  • Supporting in the yearly budget definition process for the oilseeds clusters,

  • Supporting in the definition of SOPs of the agriculture department,

  • Supporting in the development of the output financing scheme, developing subsequent SOP and ensuring the proper execution of the strategy (Selection of financed partners, payment/recovery scheduling, documents supporting etc.),

  • Participating in the development of the promotional and communication strategy,

  • Ensuring the execution of agriculture department SOP by subordinates,

  • Leading in the recruitment plan for subordinates at headquarters and oilseeds storage centers,

  • Leading , motivating and training the collaborators, subordinates and partners. 

EXPECTED RESULTS

  • Timely execution of the oilseeds contracting plan ( clusters/integrators) as per yearly harvest plan and oilseeds supply budget,

  • Timely delivery of the contracted oilseeds volume as per  plan (for clusters and integrators) to  the oilseeds storage centers /rented warehouses,

  • Timely execution /delivery  and payment of the inputs supply plan (type, volume, price, payment schedule),

  • Timely delivery of the contracted oilseeds as per  plan (for clusters and integrators) to  the oilseeds storage centers /rented warehouses,

  • Efficient management  of  oilseeds storage centers/rented warehouses,

  • Relevance, accuracy and suitability of reporting on Ethiopian oilseeds markets,

  • Increased development of network with stakeholders to ensure required additional sourcing,

  • Percentage collected/target for each region, relevance and accuracy of development plan,

  • One hundred percent credit disbursed recovered,

  • Timely organization of oilseeds supply team recruitment and their  good management,

  • Improvement of companies image and popularity in areas of intervention

  • Compliance with all SOPs of Agriculture department.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Experience:

  • 10 years of experience of which at least 5 in the sector relevant to the JD.

Education

  • BSC/Msc degree Project Management/Agribusiness and/or related fields

    • Proficiency in English, Amharic and Afan Oromo
