Job Description
The Commercial Manager will maximize the sales and marketing of Agri-products specifically vegetables and fruits, poultry, malt barley, and others through technology/platform, by identifying and onboarding potential commercial buyers, and expanding relationships across vegetables and fruit growers with Contract Farming Manager. Besides, He/ She ensures all objectives of the Shega Fre Digital Agri-business meet in an effective and efficient manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Design and develop a commercial plan for the successful marketing and sales operations of Shega Fre agri-business
· Researching, planning, and developing different business opportunities and implementing new sales strategies for vegetables and fruits; and other agricultural products
· Planning and developing business opportunities through smart contract farming
· Initiate and manage relationships with potential buyers and sellers, including coordinating the sales agents, with the goal of increasing product sales.
· Liaise between buyers and sellers of agricultural products
· Conduct targeted research on new markets, potential buyers and investors, product trends, marketing strategy, etc.
· Work closely with the Contract Farming Manager of regions, value chain executors, and Warehouse person in the process of storage and packing, selling the produce, and delivery.
· Identify trends and determine system improvements to achieve sales and profitable operational goals
· Prepare an annual and seasonal budget to meet marketing and sales financial goals
· Develop field sales action plans and advertising to accomplish marketing and sales goals
· Identify different consumer requirements to properly identify marketing opportunities
· Research and capitalize on different marketing opportunities to improve product marketability and profitability
· Anticipate new opportunities to maintain the relationship with potential Commercial Buyers
· Gather, investigate, and summarize sale and marketing data and trends to provide accurate information through reports on a timely basis
· Establish marketing strategy and execute marketing research frequently
· Contribute to the preparation of Shega Fre Agribusiness documentation, including business plans and budgets;
· Report the deliverables obtained on a timely basis
Minimum of a BA Degree in Marketing and Sales, Business Development, or related discipline.
Minimum of seven (7) years experience working with agricultural products marketing and sales in commercial/trade development activities in the country.
Direct experience in marketing and sales of agricultural products, import/export, and relationship management.
Experience in working within a multi-layered organizational structure with the required staffing profile and operating out of several dispersed offices
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and a team player; able to work independently.
Ability to build positive relationships with multiple stakeholder groups and partners
Experience in website management/platform and graphics programs is desirable.
Familiarity with data analysis and reporting
Ability to work under pressure, is preferred
