Job Description
Monitor and manage the work assignments and personnel for the Tool Room and Plastic Manufacturing Engineering department.
Monitor and manage the inventory of the Tool Room, including perishable tooling, mold and die components, operating supplies, and capital expenditures.
Monitor and assist with the establishment of tool samples and design experiments for new and existing molds.
Coordinate and manage the tooling demands and requirements for the manufacturing facility and support the molding operations.
Coordinate and implement standard processes for tooling, molding, and process controls between company molding locations.
Manage tooling and piece part cost estimates for the company along with external vendor(s).
Collaborate with staff to determine whether tooling should be manufactured in-house or procured from outside vendor(s).
Lead project management of work taking place at outside vendors.
Creates and executes technical department plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Keeps Factory management well informed of status of factory machines and serves as liaison between Technic staff and factory management.
Apply creative knowledge for improving machines lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks.
Manages technical resources within budget and schedule.
Communication
Facilitates team meetings effectively.
Holds regular status meetings with technical team.
Keeps technical team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news.
BSc Degree or Diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or in a related field of study with relevant work experience
