Job Description
Roles
Manage accounting and administration functions: inventories, invoicing, debtors, creditors, (pre)payments, fixed assets registration, import, payroll and pension
Manage tax functions: payroll tax, VAT, withholding tax and corporate income tax
Review accounting records and journal entries made by the accountants
Responsible for month-end closing procedures, including accrual accounting in accordance with IFRS
Ensure accurate financial administration, supporting documentation and transactions in accordance with the proclamation, directives and company policies
Plan and execute payments in line with the (foreign currency) cash forecast and manage working capital effectively
Prepare daily cash forecasts and provide input for the annual budgeting cycle
Report and evaluate actual versus standard raw material consumption
Update and implement the accounting manual
Ensure timely purchase and renewal of insurances
Prepare the annual financial statements based on IFRS, provide supporting documentation and respond to external audit queries effectively
Prepare the annual fiscal statements and coordinate with ERCA auditors if needed
Review amendments in Ethiopian tax regulations and assess the potential tax impact that might be relevant to the company
Conduct regular performance evaluations with regard to the accounting and tax team
Minimum of BA degree in accounting and finance from a recognized university
Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience for a private organization of which minimum 3 years in a managerial position
fluent in Amharic and English (speaking and writing), analytically strong, strong financial knowledge and skills, strong administration skills, strong knowledge of Ethiopian law & regulations, strong computer skills and good planning skills
proven leadership skills, able to motivate and drive the accounting and tax department, high level of integrity and accountability,
able to adapt and show leadership under challenging circumstances, serious and hard-working, eager to learn, good feedback mentality,
very strong communications skills, very structured, team player
Candidates are required to have good references
Candidates who have worked for an international company and have experience in a FMCG company are preferred
