Scope of Role
Lead S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process to optimize the value chain relationships within company businesses to deliver value and provide transparency to the organization on constraints, opportunities, etc.
Coordination and execution of all activities related to the planning of raw materials and components, converting the output of the Yearly Production Schedule (YPS) and the Detailed Schedule (DS) into material requirements (MRP) to ensure the availability of the right quantity of components to the production lines when needed.
Be an integral part of a team that optimizes the flow of materials, while considering the factory warehouse capacity and inventory targets in order to eliminate potential disruptions in the storage, and storage costs and avoid material scrap at the site level.
Purpose of Role
Responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and addressing raw materials / full good inventory levels to minimize potential out-of-stock risk to production/sales.
To ensure effective, efficient, and timely communication between different stakeholders across the organization.
Serve as the primary point of contact and works closely with factory warehouse, production, sales, and logistics colleagues as well as with the procurement team in order to ensure that plans are aligned with demand and supply.
A Supply Chain (SC) Planner isresponsible for monitoring and managing inventories and forecasting sales and production levels for materials that are needed. This includes tracking inventory delivery performance and response time. The role of the Supply Chain Planner is critically important to the successful operation of an organization by meeting customer demand, increasing efficiency, decreasing waste, and lowering costs.
Responsibilities of the role include resolving inventory in-stock issues such as the depth, timing, and efficient flow of inventory that support financial objectives. Additionally, supply chain planning includes managing the purchasing process, creating/managing inventory budgets, ensuring that inventory levels meet demand, and gathering data to prepare trends and forecasting reports for colleagues, management, and other stakeholders.
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and addressing raw materials / full good inventory levels to minimize potential out-of-stock risk to production/sales.
Responsible for maintaining inventory at maximum levels; supervisory or lead functions required.
Set preferred stock levels and prevent excess inventory
Project forward-looking inventory positions and financial implications
Plan both short- and long-term to align supply and demand to support inventory needs
Monitor and track raw material usage in production runs (plan vs actual).
Monitor the movement of materials through purchasing, storage, and production.
Track and report efficiencies and yields associated with inventory/production.
Reconcile raw materials, and track/report in breakage, damage, and loss.
Report to management/supervision daily out-of-stock items/materials
Perform weekly age analysis and report any close-dated product.
Liaises with warehouse staff to understand and adhere to space constraints, managing inventory levels within agreed targets.
Facilitate and lead weekly Sales and Operation meetings with stakeholders to review sales, production, purchase forecasts, proposed orders, and other operational issues.
Connect with production planning to ensure a seamless flow of information and ensure a fully integrated approach to delivering key metrics – Customer Service, Inventory, and Cost.
Develop and monitor internal and external key performance indicators including forecast accuracy and vendor scorecard metrics
Manage inventory levels and produced product replenishments to meet sales demand.
Create and prioritize product replenishments to meet the demand replenishment plan.
Generate and review daily reports.
Prepare and file reports.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualification and Experience Required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Purchasing and Supplies Management or related field of studies.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years relevant experience, with good planning and monitoring skill in Manufacturing Industry especially in the FMCG sector.
Skills:
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (V-lookups, Pivot tables)
Experience with planning systems such as Just Enough is a plus
Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
Strong quantitative analytical skills with a technical understanding of inventory management concepts
The ability to summarize data logically and communicate information and recommendations clearly to all levels of the organization
Team player, comfortable in building effective cross-functional relationships with business partners
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to strategically manage and drive positive financial results for assigned categories
